LSU's campus isn't a shithole. But, still way down the list.

Maybe shithole was harsh (For LSU, not Tennessee. Tennessee is still a shithole). The campus itself has some nice parts but I take into account the surrounding areas. And it is surrounded by ghetto. JMO.

I like that our campus really doesn't have any ugly buildings, and we are currently renovating the few marginal buildings. The complete lack of 1970s style gray block architecture always appealed to me.

This is about the campus, not what's surrounding it. Anybody who says LSU's campus is trash is full of shite

Ha! No shite. Campus opened in 1876, but most of the buildings still around are post-1950 concrete monstrosities. Kyle Field on-campus is a major plus, but you could bulldoze 90% and start over -- and it wouldn't be missed. Massive campus though, and it's still being built out like nobody's business.

It is, however, a colonial masterpiece compared to UT-Austin.

Me too... even the new construction, such as the dorms, college of nursing and that big arse science and engineering building look really good and coincide with the architectural theme of our campus.

That's just on the north end of campus....................but the ghetto is being pushed back further every year.

I love the way they have blended the old with the new on our campus. That has to be a challenge but they have done an excellent job.

I'm hoping to get down to Oxford in February myself.

OT: I will say this, the campus in Oxford, OH (Miami) is incredible. Currently sitting in the middle of the campus and I am amazed how awesome this school is...if it was in the SEC, it would be #1.
