Ok. I'm sure we could have a wonderful and unbiased discussion about it too.

Haha that place is great, I wasn't sure if I would like the new location but it's actually better than when it was at the plaza

I grew up in one of these towns, graduated from schools in two others, and sent two kids through college at two more. Been to all, but ATM:

First Tier:
UGa, AU, Mizzou, Ole Miss

Second Tier:
Bama - close, but relation of campus to town is architecturally awkward
UF - lacks cohesiveness, walkability
Ark - pretty setting marred by polyglot of styles
Vandy - I've seen better Soviet worker housing than Carmichael Towers
LSU - would be in top tier except for Baton Rouge encroachment

Bottom Tier:
MSU - nothing special
UT, USC, UK - LSU/Vandy handles the urban setting better

No Basis: ATM

Our campus is marred by many-tongues of styles? Are our buildings multilingual?

edit: I do know what you're saying, but that's a weird way to say it.

Mizzou was originally designed and planned after Thomas Jefferson's plans for UVA.

the idea for UVa's "Lawn" or academic village came from USC's "Horseshoe". Jefferson hired the first UVA president from USC.

when i went to uga i wasnt blown away by the campus. i thought its relation to the bars and the bar scene was terrific and lived up to expectations. the campus itself..i dont know i guess i was expecting more.

just one guys opinion.

Miss State was simply awful. The dorms looked like an old, rusty motel and the campus looked like Texas A&M

LOL. There is one dorm left on campus that meets this description. Might want to visit the campus again. Pretty sure we made a list a few months ago for nicest dorms in the country or some shite. Nice try. One of these days, people will stop assuming our campus is a dump and realize that it's as nice as all the other ones, just more spread out.

Offseason thread...Nicest SEC Campus

I really like Auburn and Georgia's campuses. UT's is pretty ugly.

never realized that. i couldnt even begin to draw you lsu's shape. but i know with the lakes its squigly as hell on the western side.

eta: lsu's north side does brush up against a ghetto but they've actually pushed the ghetto back about a half mile to a mile from the campus gates. it used to be a lot closer a decade ago. to the west and south and very nice neighborhoods and to the east is the mississippi river. only addressed this because i saw some posts earlier in the thread that were false regarding lsu being in the middle of a ghetto.

I've only been to 3, but of the 3 I say

1. Vandy. A beautiful campus in a big city atmosphere. Also slight homerism of course.

2. Bama. Another beautiful campus in a fun, small town.

3. UTK. A blacktop and concrete infested steaming pile of crap surrounded by Knoxville. Although the riverside is very nice.

Our campus would be beautiful if you knocked down 90 percent of the buildings. Looks like a downtown with now particular style. Guess that's what happens when quadruple size in 15 years. Anyhow, as long as new Kyle is awesome, I can handle having the ugliest campus.

Best SEC campuses I've been to:
1. UGA (so damn cool)
2. Bama
3. Ole Miss (Might be prettiest, but I was too busy looking at the honies to notice.
4. Mizzou
5. Auburn
6. LSU

That's all I've been to, but I'd sure like to visit the rest!

1. Alabama (can't lie, they stick to a singe traditional architectural style and it looks fricking great.

2. LSU (I don't know that there is a single better looking spot on any SEC campus than the Quad)

3. UGA (Athens is just great)

4. Ole Miss (Oxford is overrated, but still beautiful)

5. Tennessee (very underrated urban campus IMO)

Florida has nice parts, but on the whole nothing to write home about.
