While I'm glad they did touch on the positives with both sides in the immediate tornado aftermath, I just don't get the point of this show. They went out of their way to show the worst of the worst. We all have idiots. But that's all they showed. There are a jillion 'friendly bets' twixt them each year. All they had was just garbage.
Having Finebaum as the star said volumes.
When I stick up for Auburn and Alabama, you know there's a problem.

I dont think Finebaum callers represent either fan base as a whole. A very large majority of the Bama fans I met this weekend were full of class.
Finebaum callers = Rantards

I can't believe someone said they would choose Iraq over Alabama.
A country vs a state?

If I'm Auburn or Bama, that was pure garbage and giving airtime to Finebaum and Updyke was pretty bad even for ESPN
The sad thing is that's how all Auburn and Bama fans are categorized now, especially the idiots on the radio.

Just read through the whole thread, and I agree that it seemed much more like tabloid journalism than anything else.
What is sad is that they didn't even get all the facts right. Alabama did not win the first Iron Bowl. Auburn won the Feb. 1893 game in Birmingham and the Nov. 1893 game in Montgomery. Bama won the 1894 game in Montgomery and didn't win again until 1903 (again in Montgomery). Bama didn't win in Birmingham until 1905.
Holtz acting like he coached against Saban at Bama, when he retired from USCe after the 2004 season; Finebaum talking about watching the tornado pass his studio and then hit the UofA campus, isn't the studio in Birmingham?
There is so much more to the rivalry - and yes there is a lot of hate - but there have been some pretty cool on the field moments too.
I was really surprised that Jelks was mentioned when Eric Ramsey was not, but I guess it was more because Jelks went back to help in the aftermath of the tornado.
It was interesting that they had Jacobs talk about why her hired Chizik and the intangibles that he had in the connection with the players. Would have been interesting to hear Mal Moore talk about what (besides his BCS title at LSU) maed him the choice at Bama.

Appeared to me that they threw this together thinking that Alabama would be No. 1 this week.
They skimmed over tons of interesting football history to zone in on the last couple of years (which we've seen in every Alabama and Auburn pregame program this year).
The only interesting piece was the look inside the mind of the tree poisoner. That guy's a fricking loon.
Same old Cam. I don't need to see any more of him.
