Is this where I complain about schedules again since Florida will now beat LSU?

The official start date for that thread is Tuesday, January 13th 2015 if no SEC team makes the title game, and Monday, January 19th 2015 if one does. Mark it on your calendar. We're all on tenterhooks.

Let's not go overboard here, I am sure people were saying the same thing about Muschamp when he got hired. Results will determine whether or not this is a great hire.

Completely true, but there's at least a short body of work that seems to show McElwain knows what he's doing as a head coach. Boom didn't have that at all and Dooley's was less than impressive.

In response to my own post (yeah, I know, tacky) it occurs to me that UF could be pretty damned scary if McElwain could persuade Muschamp to rejoin the UF staff as a DC....

Yeah, if I'm not mistaken, he's a finalist for the Award You Have To Google To Spell (aka Biletnikoff.)

Glad you specified, I would have guessed the Gagliardi Trophy.

Congrats Gator fans!

But now FSU and UF have a HC with the same first name.

I'm pretty sure it's illegal in Alabama for UA and AU to have coaches with the same names.

That shite could rip the space-time continuum.

Congrats on the new coach gators. I'm not sure about this one but the thing with coaches is they're never truly sure things until they prove it at the team that just hired them.

Good guy with good training. Will have a good recruiting base. Doesn't have the star power one would have expected for the Florida HC position.

I think they will find average success with their new coach.
Not great like with Urban Meyer, but better than they have had in recently.

Now that I know he's not going to try and run the Bama offense I'm significantly happier. I can live with a shotgun spread offense, watching tape of both pre and post Bama McElwain it seems like he's a 75% shotgun spread guy with some undercenter power running mixed in ala Oklahoma.
