We just gonna have to get us a marine face kicking QB, with a sexual battery man waiting in the wings and a few dope smokin' DB's and RB's and maybe a coach that eats grass - then we'll be alright.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Washington County jail records show that Arkansas linebacker Ross Rasner has been arrested on drug and alcohol charges.

According to the records, Rasner was arrested early Friday morning by University of Arkansas police and booked into the county jail at 1:22 a.m.

The records indicate that the 19-year-old Rasner was charged with possession of a controlled substance and being a minor in possession of alcohol. The circumstances of his arrest are not included in the records.

Kevin Trainor, spokesman for Arkansas athletics, said a statement about Rasner's arrest would likely be issued later Friday by the football program.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Arkansas Razorbacks receiver Lance Ray has been arrested and charged with marijuana possession.

The 19-year-old Ray was arrested late Saturday night by university police after the smell of marijuana was detected coming from his dorm room. According to a preliminary police report, Ray had a brown rolled cigarette containing a green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana.

The misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance charge carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail.

Ray also was charged with minor in possession of alcohol and was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was released from early Sunday morning.

The redshirt freshman played in nine games last season for Arkansas, finishing with one catch for 6 yards. His primary contribution came on special teams, where he had 23 kickoff returns for a 22.5-yard average.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Arkansas defensive tackle Dequinta Jones was arrested and charged with marijuana possession early Wednesday.
SEC blog

The 19-year-old Jones was arrested by Fayetteville police after an officer smelled marijuana coming from his vehicle during a traffic stop for no vehicle license lights. According to the preliminary police report, Jones had a plastic bag with 8.7 grams of marijuana in his pocket.

Coach Bobby Petrino said he was aware of the arrest, but he hadn't talked to Jones yet. Petrino said the arrest would "certainly be addressed."

"I'm very disappointed," Petrino said. "It's something we certainly don't want to see happen, particularly during the week of a game."

The charge of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail.

The sophomore has started all seven games this season for the No. 19 Razorbacks and has 22 tackles. He played in 12 games last season as a freshman, starting three games.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Authorities say Arkansas fullback Van Stumon has been charged with drunken driving and other offenses after an early morning traffic stop in Fayetteville.

The 22-year-old Stumon was arrested Saturday, booked into the Washington County Jail and released later in the morning on $1,200 bond.

A police report said Stumon was pulled over about 2:20 a.m. after officers saw him make an improper turn, drive over a curb into a parking lot and park his car erratically. According to the report, Stumon failed a field sobriety test and registered 0.10 percent on a blood-alcohol test.

He was charged with DWI, careless driving, making an improper U-turn and making an improper lane change. He is scheduled to appear July 16 in Fayetteville District Court.

Zack Higbee, a spokesman for the Arkansas athletics program, said coach Bobby Petrino is handling the matter.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- University of Arkansas officials say two football players were arrested on drug possession charges earlier this week.

Zack Higbee, a spokesman for the athletic department, confirmed Wednesday that the players are 19-year-old David Gordon and 20-year-old Hunter Miller. Both are listed as sophomore defensive backs.

Campus police say the two were arrested Monday evening after an officer noticed the two sitting in a parked car. Police say marijuana smoke drifted out of the car door when opened and a "plastic baggie of green leafy substance" was in plain sight.

Kelly Cantrell of the Washington County sheriff's office says the two players were booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance and released later on individual $660 bonds.

March 1 2009

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Fayetteville police arrested Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett on a public intoxication charge early Sunday outside of a nightspot near campus.

The 20-year-old Mallett was booked into the Washington County Jail at 3:47 a.m. after Fayetteville police arrested him on Dickson Street. Mallett was released on bond about an hour later.

Coach Bobby Petrino said Mallett would be disciplined.

Mallett is seen as the likely starter for the Razorbacks in 2009. He sat out 2008 after transferring from Michigan.

July 29, 2008

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino suspended linebacker Freddy Burton and wide receiver Marques Wade for the season's first two games after both were arrested on drunken driving charges.

Petrino issued a statement Tuesday, suspending the two from the Razorbacks' opener against Western Illinois and the team's second game against Louisiana-Monroe. He said athletic department policy called for a one-game suspension, but he thought the longer suspensions were appropriate.

Wade, who played four games last year, was arrested Saturday after authorities said he nearly hit a police officer with his car. Police said the 19-year-old registered a 0.11 on a blood-alcohol test. Arkansas' legal limit is 0.08.

In a separate case, Burton pleaded guilty Monday to misdemeanor charges of drunken driving and careless driving that were filed after a June traffic stop. He faces an Aug. 8 sentencing.

June 11 2008

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Freddie Fairchild, the Arkansas linebacker arrested in March on misdemeanor charges of battery and false imprisonment, has been dismissed from the football team, coach Bobby Petrino said Wednesday.

Petrino suspended Fairchild the day after his March 24 arrest by Fayetteville police following a report by a woman that he had attacked her.

"Freddie Fairchild has been dismissed from our football team," Petrino said in a statement. "Since his suspension last March, he has not participated in team activities. As his status with our team has been resolved, we will make no further comment regarding this matter."

A preliminary probable-cause statement from a Fayetteville police detective said that Fairchild caused injuries to the woman's "head, face, extremities and pelvis" and that "he would not allow her to leave for several hours."

Fairchild had been in a "domestic relationship with the women intermittently for over a year," the statement said.

Fairchild pleaded not guilty to the charges in Fayetteville District Court. A trial is scheduled for June 18.

The 21-year-old junior started 11 games last season as a redshirt sophomore. He led the Razorbacks with 4.5 sacks. He also forced one fumble, recovered one and was third on the team with 92 tackles.

It's funny reading back through this thread seeing all the LSU fans who thought we were done when we got down 14-0, or that Lee should go in because of FORD's fumble.
