I'd say Larry Rountree (RB from NC) will be the most impactful offensive recruit for Mizzou. Although, I don't really think there will be too many newcomers play. We were young on offense last year and return nearly everybody. Durant is not a bad pick. He may be the top reserve at tackle and could be in a prominent role if there is an injury.

Defense is a different story. Should have several newcomers play this year on that side of the ball.

As a fan it's easy to say a playmaker that will actually have the ball in his hands. But if I'm being completely honest it's austin deculus.

The film I've seen on him and what I hear coming from everyone who's seen him, he's the real deal. How thin LSU is at OLine, he will get a lot of experince this year, and he will become the anchor in the trenches we need for years to come.

Best HS WRs I've personally ever seen are probably:

Chad Jackson
Julio
Nikita Stover

Williams is an interesting pick. Chase Hayden has gotten great reviews from camp too. We don't really have a back with his kind of agility.

South Carolina - OrTre Smith, WR
South Carolina is pretty set at the receiver position with Deebo Samuel and Bryan Edwards still on the roster, but I'm really interested to see if OrTre Smith can snag some playing time because of his size (6'4", 220lbs) and skill set. Smith is a huge body, who I believe will be effective over the middle of the field and can take the defense deep as well. Smith has a good set of hands, runs good routes, and was able to enroll in January so he should be one step ahead of the other freshmen competing for playing time.

Really well done for both Divisions - thank you. Wish we had more of this on the SECr.

Shi Smith is the one you want to watch. He's a rare specimen and the other true freshmen "Smith" at WR.

I hope both of the Smiths pan-out to be very good. They are like Thunder and Lightening in their styles and sizes ... but Shi is the really exciting one to watch-for early this season.

but the majority of it was against mediocre/poor competition

Personally, we should all stop acting like the SEC is the same as it was in the latter years of the BCS. There is a lot of mediocre/poor competition in the SEC the last couple of years. Including the 2nd best team last year. Auburn.

Not what I'm saying at all. His most impressive game was against a 6-7 team who gave up 285 passing yards per game. His second most impressive performance was probably against an 0-12 team.

That's really all I was trying to say. He looked solid against the two better teams he played, but not as out of this world as he did against the bad ones, and that makes sense.

He would need an editor, or some formal training. Good content, but too many cliche's and literary disfluencies.

Are you telling me my C and B in my two English classes at UGA aren't good enough for formal journalism?

I'm unfortunately all too aware my writing is quite poor. That's why it stays on the SEC Rant.

Trey Smith is probably starting out at as our starting OG this year. He had that sealed before Chance got hurt. Truth be told he had it sealed by Spring - he is just not a normal freshman at all. He looked like he should be playing in his 3rd pro bowl when he arrived on campus at 17 years old.
