A&M is a strange situation. It's basically like nobody wants sumlin there and he is holding the school hostage because the buyout is so large and he's just collecting a paycheck. Not sure he even has expectations for the season.
it may be more of a factor as to how Chad Morris does at SMU this year.

Unless he gets a multi-year show cause, Freeze is safe. Which I have no problem with.
And to answer the questions that follow this response, no I don't have an issue with a known cheater remaining our coach.

Freeze and if a big hire is available Coach O. If he craters and a big hire is interested (not simply available but a lock for the job) Mac.
I'd say Butch as well but I don't know if Tennessee has standards any more- Butch might get an extension for 8 regular season wins at this point.

Ah, Sumlin will be undefeated in September and the talking heads will lavish praise on him. Then he will follow his usual pattern and crater in Oct and Nov. As the temperature drops, the heat on Sumlins seat will rise. I don't think he survives another 7-8 win season after starting 5-0 again. Unless the buyout is still too steep.
It's sad to see the opportunity aTm pissed away while Texas was down. Instead of becoming the powerhouse in the state, they let Baylor and TCU usurp the talent. Now Texas is showing signs of awakening. Aggie will still be lil bro in Texas.

Come again?
From 2012-2017, Baylor and TCU signed a combined 2 5-star and 29 4-star players
In contrast, A&M signed 9 5-star and 59 4-star players in that same timespan.

Part of me hopes Morris doesn't do well this year so that the decision makers are forced to actually do legitimate research into who needs to be hired and end up with McIntyre from Colorado.

If Vandy does awful look out for Derek Mason to be canned as well.
Mason might be the second safest HC in the SEC next to Satan

Ok, well that's even worse. Who's winning more games??

I don't see why Stoops would be fired.
He could have a disastrous year and still keep his job IMO.

From 2012-2016:
Baylor: 47-18
Texas A&M: 44-21
TCU: 40-24
Keep in mind that Baylor and TCU get to play Texas Tech, Kansas, and Iowa State every year in addition to their three nonconference cupcakes (to TCU's credit, they played LSU)

Agree. Stoops is (70) on the coaches hot seat rankings above Mason (71).
Smart (31), Muschamp (33), and Mahlzan (42) have hotter seats than Stoops and Mason.
