It's not random, it's just easy.

Alabama has advantages, including resources, location and the history and mystique behind that script letter A. But its biggest advantage over dozens of other of top-tier college football programs is one of its own making: Alabama, alone, never has to play Alabama.

Advantages has come with Saban building the program up, so have resources. The "mistique behind that script letter A" means the tradition which Alabama has plenty of.

Location? Alabama is not the only program located in the South. Other programs have this also. Maybe it's all the things together.

But the main thing is Saban. If he had not taken this job back in 2007, Alabama would not be where we are now.

We would still have the tradition, the location. But I don't believe Alabama would have grown as much as it has grown without Saban.

Time to bring out the tried but true "BAMMER OWNS THE NEW YORK TIMES" lines. Those were always some of my favorites.

New York Times owns the Tuscaloosa News

Coincidence? I THINK NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Explain to me how exactly this is a real "sport". This should be good. Bring out the scholars.

Why do you love the taste of my tears? You must play or coach at Bama for that to be true. I cry zero over the recent struggles of my Tigers as I am smart enough to realize a modern dynasty and the unfortunate fact that we play in the same conference /division. Is what it is and I will still wake up everyday and pull for LSU. Makes me laugh when fans act as if their own self worth is defined by something they neither participate in or are a functional part of.

which is precisely why they never have any quality wins at the end of the season.

In their defense, they are likely not certain in which state Auburn is located. So, the linkage between talking up Alabama and "cutting down" Auburn is purely coincidental.

As football is a dying sport, this is probably the last dynasty of our lifetimes.
As long as the NCAA keeps picking and choosing who can cheat and who can't it will die. But by the time someone gets in there to stop it, the record books and stat will be so tainted they would have to just start over to even begin to straighten the mess out.
