Good. It's not about being excited about hires. It's about getting the "right fit" for the entire coaching staff. People that work well together produce results. It's that simple.

You should be getting paid by UF's PR department. I don't care that they're friends and can work well together. I want someone who is proven to be successful as an OC or at least an up-and-comer that has some promise. Not a guy who sucked at Michigan and was mediocre at Bama.

You are stupid then. When Meyer came to UF, he brought a ton of coaches that didn't have any connections to the SE but they got work done. They all worked well together and produced results. They had a vision as a staff and did work.

All of these guys know football, it's about the "fit".

The OC for an offensive-minded HC isn't as important a position. Similar to Durkin and Muschamp. I'd be more worried if it was Muschamp making this hire, but he is going to come in and run Mac's offense.

Look at our last drive against aTm in '12. Running it down Aggie throats to inside the 10, first and goal. Then, three incompletions and an interception.

Good luck, Gators.

What you're saying is impossible to back up with any evidence.

Meyer's coaches "getting work done" had a lot more to do with the quality of the coaches than their relationships. Our OC at the time is now a successful head coach at Mississippi State. Our DC at the time is now the head coach at Texas. Doc Holliday is now a successful coach at Marshall.

Sure, having good relationships and being on the same page is important for a coaching staff but the quality of the coaches is much more important.

Prayers sent gators My gripe with Nuss was that he often called a balanced game for the sake of being balanced. It'll get your dick hard when it's working, but if the pass wasnt working and we were getting 8 YPC he still wanted to pass, and vice versa with the run. 2012 LSU was a prime example. Lacy and Yeldon were eating in the first half and then we came out in the second half trying to throw it around the yard. He did the same shite against Georgia until Saban blew a gasket, and we proceeded to run it down their throats. Nuss would rather be balanced than stick with what's working, he was the anti Mcelwain in that regard. Nuss out thinks himself sometimes.

Unfortunately, this^^^^. Hope Nuss works out for the Gators.

Oh...you mean an up and comer like Kurt Roper? He had the media wagging their tails....how'd that work out?

In coaching, someones trash is anothers treasure and we will see how it washes out soon enough...long offseason though. By spring we should have an idea of whats cooking and maybe the future of UF football....Willy Grier?

Lets face it....McElwain knows what and who he needs on his staff and if he wanted Nuss...good enough for me. Boom had a failure of an OC hire in Cheeseburger Charlie...but Boom wasn't an offensive coach and it didn't work out...I think Boom was led to the hiring of Charlie by others.

We better be going to the spread, if we line up and try and pound people as a pro style team the fans are going to turn on McElwain quickly after being promised a high-flying attack and suffering through 4 years of Boom.
