It's time to bring the rivalry back to the Vols. I said before that y'all have another year or so. But this year should be a good one, with the Kiffin factor, we going to set it off and show them what TSIO means.

Two greatest SEC football programs all-time. They all watching, and waiting...

I'd much rather see Tennessee rise back to power than have to watch Auburn compete with Alabama. Auburn is supposed to be the little brother and Tennessee is supposed to be the competition for Bama. At least that's how I feel about it. Love watching Tennessee play Bama.

I don't want to see Tennessee rise back to power, necessarily, but make it competitive.

Still have a few good to give them

I just hope for Kiffin's sake Saban doesn't make him stand on the sidelines and coach that game. It would be entertaining for a little while but that could get, well, bad quickly.

If we stay healthy I do think we might make a decent game of it this year but we're not back just yet. I don't expect an upset and if we don't have a running game next week then I'll be very worried about the oline's ability to run block and very worried about SEC play. We got stuff to work out on our oline before we can say we have a decent team. Right now I'm excited about our defense - Cam and AJ are monsters at their positions and Derek Barnett is gonna be a star (first true freshman to ever start on the DL for Tennessee and not because we're thin, we are, but this kid is good and gonna be serious trouble for opponents the next few years). I think he's the Cam Sutton of this year's class in that he's been a playmaker from day one.

Keep an eye out for the name Todd Kelly Jr. who we call TK or TKjr - if you're diehard you may remember his dad Todd Kelly who was wicked good (he's 4th all time in sacks behind Reggie White, Leonard Little, and Johnathon Brown). TK will be on that field come TSIO and he'll likely have the starting safety job locked down. He was the one that recovered the fumble on special teams when AJ nailed USU's return man.

And just because it's Tenn-Bama it wouldn't be complete with a connection. While TK is at Tenn, his older sister Clarke is a cheerleader at Bama home games. Here's the siblings discussing their rivalry: LINK

Saban probably told Kiffin, "Hey I had to do it in 2008 at Baton Rouge, your turn a-hole".

I figured a couple years for y'all. If you all have a stellar D this year, or even good against the pass, could make it very interesting this year.

Whelp. I've never seen Vol fans throw piss balloons or bottles at Coaches wives (looking at you Florida) but I wouldn't put it past them in that situation.

Here's a funny story bout ole Lane I didn't find out until this year. He was so scared of the students outside of the complex when his announcement/press conference that he was leaving that was going down that he hid in the football complex until 3 or 4 AM. His father Monte stayed ALL NIGHT. So if Saban puts him on that sideline he'll be one nervous cat. Will be great comedy.

I already knew that, and watched the riots while they were going on, via interwebs.

I don't blame y'all for hating him, we all hated him. But when he first got there, ya'll douched him up pretty good, just saying.

It should be damn interesting, no doubt

I wouldn't doubt it. AT least he had the balls to hold a presser and announce it unlike Franchione did with Alabama, when he left like a thief in the night and had Torbush tell the players he was gone.

I am sure there will be several Tennessee fans that will unleash their heckling abilities on Kiff and I don't blame them. shite happens. Ol' boy will just have to weather the storm. Saban went through it, hell he is still going through it to an extent.

Lane was so embarrassing. He was like Spurrier with Aspergers and without any track record to back up his talk. I don't think he had any clue how you can't just walk in and trash talk in the SEC and certainly not at a school as big as UT where everything revolves around football and every word is reported and never forgotten about. Neither being an assistant at USC nor being an NFL coach prepared him for that.

If he hadn't left when he did things would've exploded anyway. The shite he was getting into with the NCAA was worse than has been reported - Chris Low alluded to it and said there would've a glorious explosion had Kiffin stayed and I think a lot of reporters had a good idea of the kind of stuff he was into. Thankfully, we only got hammered for him a few times (once originally and then a few years after he was gone and the NCAA discovered more). I'm convinced part of the reason Pearl was overpunished was because of Kiffin. Mike Hamilton offered Pearl up to the NCAA on a silver platter - Hamilton knew of the photo of the BBQ but didn't tell Pearl nor did he send him standard representation. Pearl lied and had no clue the NCAA had been faxed the photo.
