If you can give Scruffy a good reason why your writeup is not the exact same as his, he'll drop this topic forever.

A cheer gets the crowd pumped up. A yell once done by an elected leader is copied like it is some sort of religious service prayer.

We are louder when we are not doing yells so it is not a noise function or a crowd unity function.

It is more complicated than any tiger dickish cheer so sorry if we call it something different.

So clearly Scruffy can tell us where to get the one true BBQ experience. Right?
He heard that around UT is where you find the "true" BBQ, not the K-mart BBQ of College Station.

Cheerleaders jump around, perform gymnastics, use artificial noise enhances (e.g., megaphones & mics), cheer by themselves with their female partners, and generally wave around pom poms and stuff. It's a circus down there with the dance team, band, etc.

Yell Leaders don't do any of that. Their sole purpose is to wear solid white (so they can be seen on the sideline through the rows of khaki and camo), give the proper yell "pass back," signal--within seconds--and have the entire 12th Man ready to start the yell, only moments later. Oh, and to keep it all turnt up.

So, a yell is not a cheer at all? The words aren't interchangeable ever, in any situation?

We beat the hell out of different things but otherwise no.

Our yells are choreographed, and not just one thing like dot the I.

Cheer is pickup truck what yell is to Mack truck.

For the cheerleaders sure, but often the audience just follows along verbally or with basic movements. When it is some thing more (like dot the I), it is a one off and not a catalog of different ones. We have many.

With a yell the whole student section does the same motion as the yell leader. No one practices cheering like we practice yelling.

Not in the context of Aggie-speak, they're certainly not interchangeable. A student would be politely corrected for making that error ("cheer" v "yell"); but like I said, it doesn't happen.

Several things were drilled into my brain my freshman year:
(1) Ags don't cheer (i.e., high-pitched squealing), they yell.
(2) Don't call the Aggie Band's Halftime performance a "show," it's a "drill."
(3) They're "basses," not "tubas" (starts with t.u.).
(4) Aggies don't ever boo; we hiss.
(5) it's very bad bull to ever leave a ball game early.

Just because you vote for a bunch a guys to be cheer leaders doesn't make It any less gay.....

It's kinda of sad actually because they are elected all the we'll knowing they will never lift or touch a female cheerleader.

And with that last post, I've shared more than any of you ever wanted to know.
In summary, every other SEC school has male cheerleaders.
Texas A&M University is the one school that does not have male cheerleaders.
Good talking with you gentlemen.

Granted. And embraced. What's weirder, though, is that no SC fan wants to give us visitors a BBQ destination. (UT does not count, numbnuts.)

Here, I'll give you a BBQ destination for 2015: Fargo's in Bryan.
