Explained this in multiple threads. Dad went to Duke, moved to Memphis, met my mom, moved to MS. I grew up going to a few Duke games every year. I got wait-listed by Duke so I went to MSU instead. Still a huge Duke fan and watch much more basketball than just the shitty SEC.

It was a long shot to get in with a 31 ACT, but I applied anyway because there and MSU were the only places I wanted to go. Plenty of people go to State with a better ACT and I would assume better resume.
