Notre Dame's OL...

After watching clips of their games on YouTube I'm baffled at how people aren't focusing on how much of a liability their OL is. Purdue, Pitt, Michigan...these inferior defensive fronts pushed NDs big fellas around consistently. Hell on the first play of the Purdue game one of their DL flat out ran over NDs right guard. Bama should have their way with them after witnessing that mediocrity.

Something else I noticed is how susceptible NDs defense is to play action passes. Not really relevant to the thread title but something that could prove interesting on Monday.

You need to call Saban with these gems IMO.

I'm sure he already knows but I'm just wondering why the media hasn't focused on it at all or why nobody has really discussed it

They are hoping the game will last past the 1st qtr.

I think Bama takes it easy in the 2nd half, but it'll be a boring game.

Bama's D line has struggled to put pressure on QBs this year. I think you will see Bama control the line of scrimmage but I can't see them getting many sacks, especially against a mobile QB

The media doesn't want to bash a 10pt underdog. Not good for ratings.

That's because pressure usually comes from the jack linebacker and timed line backer blitzes, not the defensive line. Last years team had 30 sacks at this point of the season. This years team has 33 sacks. I don't think they have struggled at apply pressure. I just think they have not been as consistent and they are still looking for more from Hubbard as being that dominating pass rusher.

I expect Hubbard/Dickson to be spying on Golson more than anything, at least early.

We'll play this much the way we played against Johnny Football and Shoelace. Thankfully, Golson is nowhere near Manziel's ability.

That being said, our front 7 should be able to have their way with the DL and in the 2nd half I fully expect Saban and Smart to throw the book at ND by unloading all sorts of complex blitzes to affect Golson and force him to make quick decisions that could result in turnovers and missed opportunities for their offense.

Jesse should murder than interior. He's the strongest opposing DL they'll have faced.

EDIT: btw just watched the Stanford Game and their OTs have a ton of trouble with athletic rushers. I expect Hubbard/Dickson to come up with a few sacks and some TFLs in this game.

Bama has to contain Everett Gholson better than they did against JFF and play pass coverage. If they do that - game over...

Once Bama pulled their heads out of their arses after the 1st Quarter, they held TAMU pretty much in check. Need to do that from the start vs. ND.

I think Square and Pagan are going to have a really good game. I hope Rumph points out how pathetic Golic is and how vulnerable the rightside A-B gaps are. The more film I watch the worse this guy looks.

And the correct answer bell goes, "ding ding". ND's QB is mobile, but nowhere near like TAMU. He is also young, so you don't have to sack him to have success. I will settle for hurries and knock downs that get into his head and make him try bad throws.

Not only is Gholson not as good of a runner, he's isn't a quarter the passer Manziel is. He's a joke and a farce at QB. He had to be pulled from games he's so bad.

this is the first time in what, 20 years that the media has had a genuine opportunity to slobber all over notre dames nutsack. so just ignore all the nd love. it doesnt matter how many times the media say it, notre dame is not an sec caliber team.

It was a concensus that Louieville wasn't an SEC caliber team either.
