Nice Bump NATidefan.

Notre Dame had the week off and won't practice again until the 2nd. Bama hasn't even installed their game plan yet

After that arse-whipping and the subsequent "outing" of the greatest player fraud perpetrated on CFB, I'm sure he wants no part of the SecRant. Hell, his hero proved to be so stupid ND's accreditation should be questioned.

Are you talking about the Clemson game?!?! The refs didn't steal that, Miles out-clocked himself again.

Therein lies why ND couldn't tackle anything on 1/7. They didn't spend enough time on the fundamentals of the game.

Naw, they definitely peaked though. You saw ND at 100%. Alabama was playing at about a 60% level.

Miles stole it.
What can you say, it is what it is.

I remember Barrett Jones talking after the SECCG and I compared it to what the ND guys were saying after their USC game. Jones was like "we're going to enjoy this victory for awhile and then when we do get back to work we'll start on fundamentals. The NC game is so far out there we're not think about it for awhile." The ND players were saying things like "we're so pumped about playing for the NC. We're going to use all of this time off to get ready for the biggest game of our lives." I think they probably peaked in mid December. Our guys we're still working on fundamentals. Saban has the layoff thing down pat. And I don't think he really had it right until after the 2009 NC game. I thought our guys were not ready for that game but fortunately neither was UTx, otherwise they score 2 TD's in the first 10mins and Colt doesn't get hurt. But Saban learned how to do it. I bet he analyzed in detail what went wrong and redesigned how to do the long layoff.

Texas was readier for that game than we were. Colt McCoy going down on their first possession of the game had a lot to do with why they didn't score 14 points in those first five minutes.
Though I will go to my grave thinking Gideon cost Texas a chance at two national championships. In 2008...he dropped a for sure interception on Texas Tech's final drive which allowed Michael Crabtree to score the game's winning touchdown.
In 2009 - Gideon caught an interception on a fake punt that he should have batted down. Had he done so, who knows? Maybe the history of the game changes and Colt McCoy doesn't get hurt. At the very worst, they would have started with much better field position.
