Per 247 composite rankings

2010 through 2021
LSU - avg class ranking of 6.6 nationally
Notre Dame - avg class of 12.3 nationally

LSU ranked higher 10 of 12 years. LSU Average class 6 spots better than Notre Dame.

2022 through 2024
LSU - avg class ranking of 9.7
Notre Dame - avg class of 9.7

Notre Dame ranked higher 2 of 3 years.

TLDR version. LSU recruiting has gotten worse, while Notre Dames has improved over the past 3 years. I wonder what could be the driver?

Just giving you a heads up, LSU posters no longer recognize composite rankings. They cherry pick the site that ranks them higher. Carry on.

Okay but 2010 to 2021 is a lot of data vs 2022 to 2024.

So a few questions

from 2010 to 2021 did the classes get better or worse, or all over the place?

from 2022-2024 did the classes get better or worse? It feels like a better comparison would be one to wait a few years, but two...maybe 2017-2021, we get a better picture of recruiting at the end of Kellys tenure. Throwing out his first cycle at LSU would probably be best too

A&M, Florida, Tennessee, and South Carolina all had a higher average player rankings per ON3 as well.

If they signed a class of 21 instead of 27, they might not be in the top 20.

LSU is looking at getting a commitment from the #1 QB and #1 RB in the 2025 class in the next few weeks. Also have the #1 WR in the nation committed.

I think we'll be okay

First year was a complete coaching change, I'm not making any judgment of Kelly with a whole new staff in Year 1. This year is dead even or LSU ahead, depending on what site you use, with a couple of recruits still to decide.

Well maybe that will fix the offense that caused you to lose 3 games.

Wait....

I'd rather have 17 four stars than 1 five star and 10 four stars.

Kelly went hard on Louisiana baws for this class. This was a foundational class with home grown talent and guys who want to wear the purple and gold.

It doesn't have the immense start quality (does have a ton of 4 stars) buts its full of kids from the state who want to be here.

Kelly needed this class.

Trouble in Red Stick? Pretty bad when you are out recruited by ND.

Meh.

O's first two full classes were #7 and #15.

Kelly's were #6 and #12 (so far).

Would you rather 1-5* and 15-4* or 18-4*?

So what you are saying is Kelley can develop players better than Bama based on class rankings. He’s 50/50 with you guys on win and losses in the past two years.
