What's funny is State and Kentucky most wouldn't consider a rivalry but it's one of the most competitive. It's usually a good game and the series is about even.

Meh, LSU Florida is just a forced rivalry. Most of us don't even think about LSU until the week of the game.
I'm pretty sure many of the LSU fans feel that same except for those that hated us because of the arse kickings Spurrier handed out.

That's actually pretty accurate. I don't think of Florida as being on LSU's schedule until they're next up.

State is not a rival. It's a game we must win to have a successful season most years, but I root for them when we're not playing each other. Arkansas however would become a rivalry pretty quick. We hate Arkansas.

Yeah, the Tebow and Meyer games against LSU were absolutely epic, but I wouldn't exactly call LSU-Florida a rivalry at all. I was too young for the Spurrier era at Florida, so the closest feeling to a rivalry for had to been when Meyer was around

Could these be round robin games? Are fans of these schools happy with the permanent rivalry?
I believe MSU/UK & Miss./Vandy were paired only to all 4 being the low men on the totems in each division. That's the only logic I can think of them being paired. & why those particular match ups......

I like USC. Cool school, good folks. I don't have the same animosity that I do for baylor or TU, but that's not always a bad thing. I'd love to see a game at Williams-Brice.

About how I feel about Kentucky. I don't hate kentucky. It's good to win and sucks to lose and that's about it. I see LSU/Kentucky as being a bigger "rivalry" type game than ours. There's been more meetings between the two.

Honestly I think LSU Florida is really hit or miss. Before Nicky went to Bama and in the wake of Tulane turning into a shite show, OM and UF were THE games on LSU's schedule. I dunno. I grew up with my dad hating UF and OM more than any other team. If Florida hadn't descended into dumpster fire after Meyer and Tebow this would still be one of the hugest match ups in the country. I never wanted to beat a team more than when UF ran on the field and stomped on the eye of the tiger in 2007 and 2009. (Except Saban, but that was more him personally, not the whole team). The 09 loss hurt more than anything except 21-0.

I think it's time for these things to end. It is still a rivalry if they play twice every couple of years, but the SEC looks dumb when east and west teams go a decade without plying eachother because of the 6-1-1 format.
Go to 9 games, go to a 6-3 model. Auburn-UGA is really the only cross division rivalry that has been good the pat few years on a consistent basis.
