So far in camp, the name coming from Gainesville is running back Jordan Scarlett. His high school tape was insane and he had already taken over the #2 spot from Adam Lane and may be closing in on Kelvin Taylor for the starting job. With that being said, For the Gators the biggest key will be if there are any true freshman offensive linemen who can provide depth. The starting 5 guys will be fine, but after them there are some major question marks and they may need some freshmen to step up (other than 5 star Martez Ivey) like Tyler Jordan, Fred Johnson, and Richard Desir-Jones.

Who for your team (excluding the five star guys) do you think will have a big impact this year?

Shawn Curtis - 3* LB

He might be starting for us by seasons end. He looks the part right now.

Arden Key - 4* DE, probably should've been a 5* though.

WR Shaquery Wilson has been getting a lot of praise from writers, but it will be tough for him to get past 5* WR Terry Godwin who has been tearing it up in practice.

DT Michael Barnett has been wowing folks and will see some PT, but again it's 5* DT Trent Thompson who everyone will really be talking about.

Most likely it's a pair of LB's in Roquan Smith (who in all fairness was a borderline 5* guy anyway) and Natrez Patrick who are both excelling at LB and will likely play a bunch of snaps behind Kimbrough and Reggie Carter.

Jamario Bell SAM LB or DE

Hjalte Froholdt DT

I could see our freshman RB helping out as well, but the two above should see a lot of playing time

None, I'm proud to say. We've finally arrived at the point where we don't have to count on true freshmen. If 5 stars Mack, Murray, or Kirk start, it will be because they're just that good, not because we lack talent at the position.

We will be counting on transfer Justin Evans at safety.

TE Jordan Davis maybe

The freshmen that are expected to play the most (Christian Kirk, Daylon Mack, maybe Murray) were 5* though

Has Roquan Smith looked good? I haven't heard much about him on the radio in Atlanta since his drama about who he was going to sign with before he eventually decided on UGA

He has looked very good from all the reports. Came in with a good mentality.

I wish the best for him, even though as a Gator I wish he would've ended up at UCLA

Yeah, he's looking really good right now by all accounts. Tim Kimbrough has established himself as a BAMF at one spot and Reggie Carter seems to have a pretty solid hold on the other, but the reports I've read have said that Smith and Patrick are basically too good to keep off the field.

No offense, but is there that much of a difference between 4 and 5 stars when a player is rated 95 or above?
