I'll let you figure out which one is LSU's and which one is Bama's.
One QB is a true freshman playing Ole Miss on the road while the other QB is a 22-year-old graduate transfer playing Mississippi State at home. Not exactly an apples to apples comparison.

Production would include Hurts' 146 yards on the ground as well.
Etling played fine at home against MSU. Hurts played even better on the road at Ole Miss. Both will need to improve for their respective team to win a championship though.

Nobody had ever won the national championship with a sophomore quarterback either. And then Alabama did

Conveniently left out 146 yards rushing. I'll let you figure out which one did that. Hurts had a yard less than Fournette last week on the ground

We won a natty with Jake Coker and Greg McElroy. We won the SEC and made the playoff with a converted RB. We beat the best LSU team of all time for a championship with a sophomore QB. So....

I think you need to figure that out. You know, one was the SEC offensive player of the week. One wasn't.

Bama will not
It's amazing how this phrase has been tossed around so liberally for the past 10 seasons, only to be proven wrong almost every damn time.
After eight straight 10-win seasons, eight straight Top 10 finishes, five or six straight #1 recruiting classes, nine straight seasons of being ranked #1 in the AP Poll for at least one week, and four national championships in seven years, you'd think the phrase "Bama will not..." would have died a horrible death by now.
I'm not saying Jalen Hurts will take us all the way, but using the past to predict the future seems a little foolish. Wouldn't you agree?

Convenient how you leave out the 146 yards Hurts got from running the football. He's also 18 years old, playing on the road, against a Top 25 team to boot.
Etling was playing at home against a team that lost to South Alabama.

Good god thank you. I thought for a second he was serious.

Well, one is a true freshman making a road start who also had 146 yards on the ground, led his team to a road win against a ranked team while earning SEC Offensive player of the week honors.
The other is a 22 year old who transferred from Purdue and managed to hang on win at home by 3 against a team that lost to South Alabama.

Tebow was a true freshman in 2006. He wasn't the only quarterback, but Florida doesn't win the SEC or the National Championship that year without him.
