He’s not a drop back passer. Never was. He’s a dual threat QB that Gus is trying to turn into a passer.

The best attribute Nix has is that he is young. That’s an attribute shared by every freshman QB in America.

It's mental. If we are ahead, like state, he can hit them on the numbers almost every play but when the pressure is on its like the game is overwhelming him and he just starts overthrowing everything. He's scared to throw it near the WRs incase it's picked off but he's throwing too far away for the WRs to have any shot. While state isn't a good defense it's still hard to put the ball in an accurate spot that much and then miss every thing by a mile in bad games.

Plus Gus doesn't let him run enough to make plays to make him comfortable in the game and that makes it worse on his mindset.

Idk if Gus can fix it. Gus is blaming everyone else for putting him in a bad position and now Nix is talking that way. He's not blaming the anyone but saying they were in bad positions all night.

dunno, but Gus literally destroys young QBs. He has only been truly successful getting players who learn how to play football somewhere else.

This hits LSU fans way too close to home.

Auburn needs to get one of them transfers.

Mostly. Some is Nix's mindset of playing scared but Gus clearly isn't helping. I kept watching the game and Gus was giving him nothing short to get in a rhythm.

If Gus is going to live or die by Nix then he needs to just turn him loose and let him run if he wants and give him easy pass til he gets going. With the playoffs out of the question then Gus needs to spend the rest of the year working with Nix for the future.

Nix is due to breakout at any time. Just needs to be a bit more proactive in his decision making.
