Arguably 2 teams that should have made the big dance, Alabama and Colorado are teams that are playing with a chip on their shoulder as of late.
In each of their last 5 games, Colorado has scored 80+ points, and average over 80ppg on the season. They can score in bunches. Their 2 guards average more than 16ppg and they have 4 players that average double figures in scoring each game. Defensively, however, is where their game needs work. Opposing teams average 45% shooting and they give up 74ppg. Colorado also doesn't play very well away from home and dispite starting the season strong, they have gone 11-9 over their last 20 games.
Alabama on the other hand struggles offensively shooting the basketball but they make up for it with their defensive pressure which in turn creates points in transition. The Crimson Tide force their opponents into bad shots which is why they are in the top 3 nationally in FG percentage giving up a mere 38% and under 60ppg. Alabama struggles away from the friendly confines of Coleman Colesium and the thought of playing in Madison Square Garden, while exciting, will also lead to poor play by both teams to begin the game until the nerves settle. Unlike Colorado, Alabama started slow but has been on a tear in the past 20 games going 15-5.
This game is going to be a very solid and entertaining matchup. The classic offense vs. defense is always fun to watch. However, Alabama's athleticism and ability to play above the rim and defensive pressure is going to be too much for the Buffs. Alabama moves on to the NIT championship.
Bama 76
Buffs 68

TD posters make it hard, but I am pulling for Bama tonight. I got nothing against the Bama basketball program and I like the coach. I'll just have to avoid all the bama posters on here that think bama basketball is on the cusp of becoming a Woodenesque dynasty.

Nobody said that, and if you look at it objectively without your orange glasses, it's easy to see why Bama fans are excited about the basketball program.

I did....and I was wrong. It's ok for me to admit that.
VCU is proving they belong.
The teams I mentioned proved they didn't. Also, 11 Big East teams making it was kinda meh.

Bama's biggest win was against a team who's now in the Final Four. UAB's biggest win was against Arkansas.
