SEC West got LSU, Bama, Auburn and State in 1997. It was ridiculous how good the West was in baseball in that era. LSU was winning nattys every year but State, Bama and Auburn all had elite programs.

Those were the gorilla ball days. All the good SEC programs were going yard several times a game.

and Ole Miss "didn't care" about baseball.

'97 was the straw that broke the camels back and started the new format. Too many SEC teams in Omaha for the liking.

I can't figure out what to watch right now. I've settled on kentucky-Louisville, but I'm changing as soon as A&M-UT and/or OM-Tech/Wash. come on. And then I'll probably change again when USCe-MD get to late innings.

I've got to be up and at work by 5AM and I'm contemplating saying frick it and staying up tonight to keep on watching. Been a great day of baseball and that's going to carry on into the night.

Really rooting hard for an OM-MSU Super Regional, too.

Arkansas vs. South Carolina

At the moment, Looking unlikely either will be playing any more games after tonight.

That said, I predict 4 sec teams in Omaha:

LSU
Bama/Kentucky
Vandy

OM/MissSt

3 on one side of CWS bracket

That was probably the best team Alabama has ever had. We were killing it that year. I remember being so excited going into the championship game and LSU putting 7 runs on the board in the top of the 1st inning before Alabama even made it to bat.

And the one that isn't? SEC Champ and #2 overall seed.

The team was playing with fire all season with its inconsistent offense. That it burned them this weekend of all weekends blows.

The 1st game vs COC they loaded the bases 3 times I think and didn't do shite. The offense was really bad this weekend...really, really bad.

Very disappointing weekend for UF....one bright thing if there is one is Florida State embarrassment was worse than UF's IMO.
