Just tired of reading some of these Bama fans trying to justify this BS. CFB doesn't need anymore fricking rules.

Amen

I'm just envisioning a team that's down 10 points with 4 minutes left in the game and they get a first down on the 40 and run up to the line to spike it.

But they can't. They have to wait 10 seconds. Just sit there.

For 10 seconds. Wasting time.

3 first downs.. 30 seconds extra off the clock.

coachcrisp, no need to lecture. If it hadn't been for LSU, the gumps would never have found Saban. You've got a great coach. But stop all the hokum; he's doing the job you pay him to do. Stop kneeling and kissing his ring. Some people believe the guy is glib and pretentious with all his talk about the "process." Who cares? Gumps are still gumps, and no one wants to visit Alabama anyway.
1) I'm not lecturing...just stating a fact that most posters on this thread know, but won't admit. I'm simply bringing fact to light.

2) So Saban never did a great job at Mich. St. nor any other school he ever coached beside LSU? Who's surprised that LSU fans want to take credit for Saban's talents?

3) Who's kissing his ring? You won't admit that it's pretty hilarious watching all these other fans use words like "pussy" and "coward" to describe the man, and when you ask if they'd love to have him as their coach, nothing but crickets!

4) We don't care what other people think about the guy...hell, when he coached at LSU, some big-wig LSU guy made a comment to the media saying "he may be a bastard, but he's our bastard!..and I thought it was funny/correct at the time.

5) Finally, do you really think that any Alabama folks care whether you "visit" the state or not? Hell, we'd love to have all those visitors ticket that we send y'all back!

The worst part is, he doesn't need to do this. He is a good coach and gets all the players he wants. Prove your mettle, and shut that shite down.

Agreed.

I mean, you're telling me the best college coach in the game can't figure out how to stop this offense?

Not buying that

That could happen to Bama and, if this rule passes, we could get fricked over a dumb arse rule. A rule our coach wanted.

Saban lobbied for a rule before the 2004 season and it bit him during the auburn game in 04 where Ronnie prude landed on a player trying to block an extra point. The kick was no good and the score was 9-9.

Refs threw the flag. Redo the kick. Kick good. 10-9 auburn.

Penalty was never called again and the rule was changed.

Look we all know that Saban is very concerned about the safety of all players. Safety to him is more important than winning.

Saban needs to stop squatting to piss and man up and take Mike Leach's advice.

Saban sneaking into to this rules meeting to testify is something a whiny little bitch would do!

And Bulemia can EAD!

You can't really equate like that. You have to consider everyone getting to the LOS but I could see a team losing a play or 2 at the end of the game.

I guess the point is when you're pressed for time, this new proposed rule would hinder you.

The last time Saban worried about what someone else thought of him was never.

I still can't believe a group of adult individuals could collectively come up with such an idiotic rule.

Passing a rule that basically says that the refs blew a call, so we're overturning the ejection, but the penalty stands, is by far the most idiotic, with anything else being a far distant second.

HUNH has been called by some "basketball on grass.". As I pointed out earlier, even basketball allows the defense to substitute on any whistle and makes the offense wait until the defense is ready before inbounding the ball. In international basketball it used to be like soccer if there was a whistle in the backcourt...go run throw the ball in quickly...without the ref handling the ball... and beat the defense back in transition, if you could. So what happened? Did American basketball adapt to the rest of the world and change to a speeded up game? No...international basketball slowed the game down and changed to the US rule. Yet somehow basketball has managed to survive in the last 25 years. Who'd a thunk it?
