Nick Mullens better qb then Chad kelly

This gentleman tends to argue with me Saturday night for 30 minutes that Mullens is a better qb then kelly is and a top 5 qb in the nation. The conversation started when he said that in his eyes kelly is horrible and overrated. I asked him to name the qb that he felt as better then Kelly I agreed with some until he said that about mullens. After that I lost all credit for the man. Yes Chad has issues and he may not be a top 5 qb in nation but he is right around there and far from being behind mullens who imo may not be top 20.

Mullens is far better. Watch him. Which you obviously haven't done. He will also be far more successful at the next level.

Mullens is really really good. Hard to say if he is better than Kelly because it's completely different level of play. I think you could replace Kelly with him and OM wouldn't be any worse off, but you could chalk that up to your receivers. I think they make Kelly look better than he actually is, but they would do the same for Mullens.

Kelly seems to be a better runner. Passing stats are basically identical. Honestly had no idea who Mullens was before this thread. Will look up some USM games. Why in the world would he be at USM if he is that good?

You should. He is a very capable QB.
I'd probably give you that Kelly is a better runner, but Mullens is probably a bit more accurate from the pocket. He's really good at finding his next open receiver.

The same reason there have been hundreds of NFL stars and HOFs that have not played at SEC schools
Just because a guy doesn't play for one of the 16 schools down here out of hundreds in the nation doesn't mean he isn't a good player.

Yes tons have, but most weren't seen to be recruited or just developed later. Now with so much exposure for high school kids it happens far less often. I was wondering why he wasnt recruited more or did he choose USM because he wanted to be there?
