Rage posting
Rage posting? I actually don't pay attention to the combine. I rarely follow a player once he leaves college. I like the falcons, but only watch their games sporadically, so no, I am not rage posting. Just thinking that people wanting to tell the NFL how they should run their combines is odd.

But more pointing out his unique build as a RB. I think KJ's long arms were one of the things that made it difficult to get to his legs and bring him down.

For sure... he definitely used his arm to keep defenders at a distance, which worked for his lay-in-wait style... wait for the trash to clear as much as possible, then burst through. Gotta think he just had poor prep, most likely due to inability to push the shoulder for some portion of the time between the bowl and now.

I doubt most conditioning programs include a ton of bench and probably low reps when they do.

Conditioning? No. But bench press is primarily for strength. I understand that you can build stamina with the bench by doing more reps, but it is still primarily used to build strength in the chest/arm area.

I always have an opinion about everything. Doesn't mean I necessarily care.
As a whole, my posts were not about the combine, per se, but taking shots at people that took shots at Georgia.

(I am assuming by "rage posting" you mean mad. If you mean I am firing off several posts at a time, then I shut down posting at a certain time, and then get caught up the next morning.)

haven't read the thread but an impressive note on Chubb/barkley's lift: only 5 of the 36 OL that participated in the BP put up more than 29 reps.

No shite. Strength would be low reps 3-5 along with some stretching to maintain shoulder mobility. Nobody is doing 30 reps of bench press. That's why I said I would expect the bench competition at the combine to be dropped at some point.

There's a reason you can walk into any global gym and find 5 guys under 210 that can hit 20+ reps at 225 on bench press, yet so many elite athletes struggle with it at the combine. It's not something that has an impact on football success are probably pushed away from doing it to much.

But it doesn't make any sense. Are you saying muscle endurance at the end of a game is not important? For a running back it can be the difference of carrying the ball to completion and fumbling the ball at a critical point in the game.

That's fair, really enjoyed watching the gators play in their bowl game this past season... amazing effort from the gators.

Uhh... wut

Maybe you should have changed that to the 4th quarter, when I'm convinced he was hurt or our coaches were just idiotic, but he was awesome when we got him the ball.

Fair point. Just an overwhelming sense of "WTF were you thinking?" after that game. Kind of colors the whole memory.

What level did you play at? I played at a fairly high level and we did indeed do high reps to increase muscle stamina. Granted it was a long time ago, and things, I'm sure have changed a bit, but to say doing high reps does nothing for muscle fatigue is at best ill informed.
Not only does it help with muscle fatigue but it builds muscle.

High reps builds muscle WebMD.
