Is that not a form tackle? How else to better tackle someone?

It's so funny because the graphics just look like how you're supposed to tackle someone without going high. Wrap up and use your weight as leverage to get a bigger player down to the ground.

That’s not just a tackle?

Rugby, hockey, and lacrosse gain more appeal every day.

This is stupid. I'm curious as to what the alternative way of tackling a guy from behind would be?

Just take the entire defense off the field. Seems like that's what we are going towards

I believe that's the "Bo Jackson injury" tackle.

A classic form tackle is wrap-up the legs/hips and drive up and through — not wrap-up the torso and rip down.

Although sometimes in the heat of the moment, you have to do what you have to do.

So don’t be “dead weight” but rather run along side of the player allowing him to gain yards after contact? Just fricking wow…

NFL has taken anything from the should up as a targeting, in a practical sense.

Now they've taken out this style which had gained in favor due to the above.

We will keep moving down the body of the ball carrier. Teams will devise ways to neutralize and eliminate knees. This will be the new target area.

And we will see a host of new prominent knee injuries.

At this point, maybe it's best to go the way of rugby and maybe just go to shells and let them modify style of play that way.

Same tackle that broke Laquon Treadwell's ankle/leg as he was just about to score winning TD vs Auburn

I remember that injury. That was miserable for him.

So now if the ball carrier is in front of the defensive player you basically CAN NOT tackle him....makes sense....lol

knees and below.

Knee injuries a plenty and maybe some broken tibias and fibulas inbound.

As soon as this was released the DCs and defenses were strategizing how to implement new tackling protocols.

“I believe that's the "Bo Jackson injury" tackle.”

And the Joe Theismann broken leg tackle.
