He also has as many losses to Georgia Southern. Oh wait, he has more.

Except y'all DID lose to them in the past. Ouch.

Last year was reality. Our first season was the outlier due to injuries.

As for replacing Sam and Ealy, we have proven performers to do so. It's not hope. We also return our entire DT rotation. Our DL will once again be one of the best in the league.

I would say both years are outliers.

Do I think we will go 11-1 again? Probably not, but we will legitimately challenge for the East. As we will do most years as long as Pinkel is here.

I know that's hard for some to believe. Especially those you worship recruiting rankings, but they simply don't matter for Pinkel. They don't. He's flat out better than your guy at development (which is just as, if not more, important than recruiting)

I see two teams with a good chance (UGA, MU). One slightly below that (USC). One with an outside chance (UF).

How many of your recruits come in and start right away on the 2 deep?

Depends on what our Defense looks like. Offense will actually get better I am betting.

Nothing really, just that you guys do things differently than most of the others. We recruit high profile kids and expect them to produce right away where as Mizzou brings them in, usually redshirts them I believe and then waits 2 years for them to step on the field.

Not Spurrier.

Also, I think Pinkel's system works great for Mizzou and he is a good developer. However, it doesn't bode well for Mizzou post-Pinkel (which I believe is 2020 now, correct?). It takes more than 2 seasons to see where your program is headed in the SEC.
You'll have to forgive most SEC fans for believing so much in recruiting rankings since there has only been one National Championship game participant since 2002 without at least one top-5 class the 4 years prior to their appearance.

It's too early to see if Pinkel's system will maintain the same success from when y'all played in the Big 12. There is a reason the SEC won 7 National Championships in a row.

I'm not saying we couldn't recruit a little better. We certainly can, and that's probably why we keep coming up a little short. In the past 7 seasons, we have been one half of football away from the NC game twice. So yeah, while we are generally pretty good and sometimes very good we aren't quite elite.

I'm hoping our success last year translates on the recruiting trail this year.

Missouri fans sure are hopeful ... Your offense may be as good as last year, I think Franklin is a big loss for an entire season, not sure how good Mauk will be for an entire season.

The defensive front took 2 big hits, Sam & Ealy, and you can say you'll re-load, but doing it is something else.

I wouldn't say is false hope. Missouri color analyst (and former Dallas Cowboy) Howard Richard thinks Markus Golden and Shane Ray are going to be better than Ealy and Sam. They only question is their back-ups, not them.

And on Mauk & the offense... I'm much more concerned about losing Henry Josey and Ladainian Washington than I am James Franklin. Those two were the heartbeat and leaders of the skill group and replacing their leadership will be the biggest challenge, at least in my mind.

I can easily see you guys going 2-0, it is 3-0 that I doubt you'll see.

SCAR plays TAMU, then ECU, then UGA. UGA has Clemson, bye week, then SCAR.

Just noticed a lot of people ITT didn't realize that. NSIAP.

Yep, I forgot about ECU as the OP's premise got me confused. ECU will be returning their top QB and WR and will be a tough task for our young secondary, but I still believe our own defensive line will be too tough for them, and our offense should romp as it had the previous 2 times we've played them...
