As good as those two were, Hall and Garrett could be better

In terms of individual stats, possibly. But as far as contributions to their team, I don't think so. Mingo and Montgomery were a huge reason why the 2011 defense was so special. They were one of the best if not the best in recent CFB history and I dont see a&m being anywhere close to that.

The A&M DE Garrett is a beast and before he got hurt was destroying the SEC
With added weight and a year experience he should be topnotch

So you don't see Hall and Garrett being anywhere close to that, but you are ready to say this true freshman that has yet to play a down of college football will be?

Put down the purple Kool-Aid bro.

When did I say Key would be better than Hall, Garrett, or Mingo? I asked a question in the title then said how Miles compared him to Mingo.

You comparing Garrett and Hall to Mingo and Montgomery is sort of insane. Mingo was the 6th pick in the draft, ran a 4.58 40 time, and was one of the leaders of a possible best team in CFB. Myles Garrett wont come close to that regardless of how many sacks he can get vs Rice, Lamar, and LA-monroe. Garrett vs LSU, Auburn, Arknsas, Ole Miss and Alabama had just 1 sack so I'm not quit sure I see your point.

Mingo who probably wouldn't be in the nfl next year? Kruger, sheard and that Iowa lb are already ahead of him. Mingo ran a 4.58? Myles will run a 4.4 and will be recognized as an sec legend while Mingo goes on to bust in the nfl.

The chances are low that he can spell "defensive end" correctly.

Are you that dumb? There's a parenthesis around his name on the depth chart because he just tore his meniscus in his right knee just last week and will need surgery. He started last year at left olb and recorded 42 tackles. He has 7 sacks in 2 seasons and played in 15 games each of those seasons. What makes you think he wont't even be in the nfl next year? LINK

Mingo ran a 4.58?

yes. electronically timed at the combine. Hand time was around 4.43. LINK

Garrett will probably run a 4.7 at the combine

I don't know the surface, but his 4.46 was electronically timed.

He'll probably run in the 4.5's at the combine in two years. At 6'5 and 270, that will earn him a spot in the top 10 of the draft.

Hand times are a lot different than the electronic time at the combine. And that was self proclaimed. To put in context Vic Beasley hand timed ran in the 4.4's. At the combine he ran 4.53. There's no shot Myles Garrett is close to the speed of Vic Beasley.

It was at A&M's official testing. It was electronically timed. Again, I don't know the surface, but I'll bet you whatever you want to bet that Garret runs a 4.64 or better at the NFL combine.

You didn't say he would be better and I didn't accuse you of that. You did make the comparison that he would be up there with them though...right here.

quote:

Miles compared him to Keke mingo who was the same size and weight, 6'5" 240, but I guess he did just fine considering he was the 6th overall pick in the draft.

I didn't make the comparison. I said that for you to compare a freshman to those players, but in the same breath say Garrett and Hall are no where near them was Kool-Aide.

I think it will be a long time before there is a tandem in college football like Montgomery and Mingo. I think Garrett will be as good as either of them, but the other side isn't at the level (although Hall is a good player).

And Donte Jackson ran a 4.24 at LSU's official testing but he probably wont run close to that at the combine.
