In the old days, the NCAA would close one case, then reopen another. Happened to Auburn in 1980 (No additional Penalties, but counted as a second Probation). 1979 (two year bowl and TV ban).
In the modern day with repeat offender status, they instead keep in open for years.

One of the most important points that I've read from pundits is that, if the NCAA lets Ole' Miss slide on all of this, they've lost control of the league. I think Ole' Miss has been much too brazen for the NCAA to let them off with the self-imposed sanctions or anything near them. IMHO, Ole' Miss' sanctions will be just shy of the death penalty when all is said and done.

Well I guess the NCAA is full of f'n idiots... They've interviewed Miller over 100 hours. That tells me the NCAA finds him credible enough to continue to interview
