A school like Florida should be able to get anyone that they want. They are easily at the top of the nation in that regard, along with USC and Texas.

This is such a stupid misconception. Lets say someone offers you 6 or 7 million dollars to be the coach of one of the top programs in the entire nation, and it would be much more than you are making right now, you would say no because you didn't like the boss? Seriously? Get over yourself. If Mullen doesn't come to Florida it will be because Foley had a better person for the job, not because of some grudge between Foley and Mullen

I'm hearing Bob Stoops and Steve Spurrier are the top 2, followed by Dan Mullen.

Sounds like a bad source.

I know he's not one of the sexiest candidates out there, but I would have Ruffin McNeill at the top of my list if I were an AD.

The whole Spurrier phenomenon goes like this: Spurrier comes home, gets the program on the right track, makes Florida feared again, gets players, fans, and recruits excited, coaches for 3-4 years, gets Florida on it's feet, maybe wins an SEC championship or something, and retires off in the sunset to forever be the man who saved Florida football (twice). Then after he has retired, Florida will still be a powerhouse and there will be a up and coming coach out there who is ready for a big job like UF (see Urban Meyer at Utah in 2004) and he will be the next head coach at UF.

Sounds like a plan to me, come home Steve, the Gator Nation needs you.

Highly doubt Stoops leaves OU.

He is set for life here.

Just doesn't work that way anymore. They aren't going to offer anyone enough money that their current school couldn't match, and while Florida is a great job it's also a job you get fired from pretty easily.

Why would Spurrier move from one room in the basement of the SEC East to another?

No way! They will not sell their sould to the Devil has Arkansas did. If the SEC coaches have not learned anything else in the last decade, I would hope this is one lesson which they did.

We had a very realistic shot at getting him in late 09 after Meyer's first "retirement."

LOL yeah becuase Spurrier always beats around the bush. The man is a straigh shooter. He is not going back to Florida unless it's to the beach.

If he went to Florida he would still be able to whip Georgia's arse on a regualar basis, if he went to the west it wouldn't happen enough.

(In my best Spurrier voice..) I don't know what happens to South Cakalacky after the Ga game. They always seem to find a way to crap the bed.
