We all stand with Coach Summitt, a fantastic coach, and a fantastic woman.

Imo, the best coach our conference has ever had. She is women's basketball, She used to drive the team from school to school in a van and never fricking complained.

We (should) all love Coach Summitt. She is the SEC.

I work in an ICU and I see a lot of early onset Alzheimer's patients come through. It's just heartbreaking to have them as patients. The patients and the families suffer together. I almost feel relief when one of my very long-term repeat patients gets bad enough that they stop realizing what's going on. Seeing them get frustrated and terrified about losing their minds is one of the worst things that I have to see.

Wish she could have hung around long enough to stick it Auriema's arse and break it off one time.

My god she was dominant.

Just unreal.

It's really astounding that no one in the SEC really ever hated her given so much stifling success. Maybe it's one of the reasons why, no one was really able to hold a candle to her program in conference at least, so there wasn't really any room to build resentment or hatred towards like say a Suzanne Yoculan (who is was arguably more successful than even Pat, but had fierce competition).

Summitt's only real nemesis was out of conference, ultimately being Geno's Uconn. By the time Dawn Staley had South Carolina up and kicking, Pat had already retired. Man those would have been epic showdowns.

For those wondering who those women are in photo, it's the Bama softball team.

My Momma died of Alzheimers, it is tragic through it's progression. The brightest, smartest and most loving leaving us through no fault of theirs.
It will affect 1/3 of us, unless we do something. Make a donation to Alzheimers Foudation please.

Damn straight

And while Staley will never replace Pat, I hope she continues to emulate the same character and passion she has for the game and community.
