In the 90’s tech cared about and would compete for in state talent(also tenner and Clemson love dipping their toes in jawja for recruits) the fall of tenn and tech basically is leaving uga unchecked in one of the best recruiting states in the country. They’re like lsu or Ohio st on steroids right now.

Academically, they have done way better than any school that's not named Candy and are currently ranked #29. They have done something right!
They will be back in football sooner than most think.

If there's a Florida school that my kids will attention, it will be UF.

You grew up in the 90's and still can't post pictures?

I figured you to be much much older.

Just wearing my red and black sunglasses but I prefer to look at it as UGA winning 5 of the last 6

More recently UGA has a title and if y'all get another you'll feel like we did a decade ago. But as mentioned, everything is cyclical. In 2010 we'd just won two titles and were 17-3 in our previous twenty games. Fast forward to today we're 5-8 against you.

To be honest, the cycles come from coaches, not some predestined need for change. Particularly key coaching hires.

To start with UGA dominated.

23-4-1 to begin the series.

Then UF hired Woodruff and the series changed. UF went 10-2 under Woodruff and Graves in favor of UF.

Then UGA hired Dooley, and the series became competitive for a while. 3-3-1.

Then UF hired Doug Dickey and they went downhill. 15-4 in favor of UGA.

Then UF hired Spurrier and Dooley retired giving UGA Goff. 18-3 in favor of UF (this goes through the end of Urban Meyer's time)

With Meyer gone it's been 8-4 in favor of UGA, including 5 of the last 6 under Smart's watch at UGA. Given more time, we might see that it was 3-3 with Richt there facing non-Meyer coaches at UF... with the bigger shift coming after Smart arrived at UGA (after the first year issues).

I doubt it honestly. Miami might have another run in the near future, but considering that nothing has changed in regards to resources I doubt it. They've ALWAYS had the potential, but outside of the runs in the late 80s/early 90s and then in the early 2000s, they've basically run out of steam.

Dooley also changed the schedule after his first 10 years (5-5)so that he usually played a cupcake before the WLOCP while
the Gators played Auburn.

Then UF hired Spurrier

And one of the first things he did was change the schedule so the Gators had an off week before Jacksonville and it obviously made a difference and it took
UGA a while to do the same.

There was also a culture shift in Athens post Jan Kemp and it lasted through the CMR years. We weren't "all in" like most of the other schools in the big 6.We refused to "oversign" classes, went way overboard with disciplinary procedures and didn't invest in facilities or staff. All that changed with President Morehead and Kirby.

No doubt coaches can change cycles but lots of other things play a factor as well.

That's nice cherry-picking you made. But the series didn't start in 1990. If you choose to live in the past, then live in the entire history of the series. Florida has never led the Georgia-Florida series, and never will in your and my lifetime. Remember that on your deathbed.

This is truly impressive. I could've sat there for 30 minutes and not thought of a better way to say that "we've lost 5 out of 6 against Georgia."

Mercy, you are one of the mostly diaper-cladded fans on this board.
Try the Vince Dooley years when UGA turned Florida into mashed potatoes nearly every year. Glad you're able to witness a re-run of'em.

Florida is in rough shape heading into the future. It's being flooded with elderly people, more crowded than California and the housing prices will make all of the people with kids move to more affordable states. There aren't good job prospects in Florida either, it's a fairly poor state per capita.

Zero reason to believe that will be the case outside of one booster going wild with NIL.

UF and FSU have far more resources than Miami.

IMO in terms of raw resources its:

Florida is a premiere brand they’ll be back.

Whoever said it’s coaching was dead on:

Great: Spurrier & Meyer

Good: Woodruff, Graves

Pell, Hall, Zook, Agent Muschamp, Swamp Donkey, Merlins …Bad

Jury is out on Napier

For Georgia:

Great: Kid Woodruff & Smart
Good: Butts, Dooley, Richt
Bad: Griffin, Goff, Donnan.

It’s pretty much the same for everybody. Florida is overdue to hit on a coach.

Florida is a dead program

I’d say Nebraska or Tennessee 2.0 but those programs have hope under Rhule and Huepel

Plus historically they are much better programs than Florida

Florida is like a Colorado 2.0 if anything

But even Colorado has. A much better future and coach that the Turds
