Got the stats from Get The Picture.

GTP

1.Ole Miss: +5.55 (9.01 o; 3.46 d) Didn't watch any of this, but a good showing for Golding in his debut considering Ole Miss D showings in the past.

2.Mississippi State: +3.87 (7.72 o; 3.85 d) Didn't see any of this one, but have to feel good about the offensive production considering the night and day shift.

3.Georgia +3.86 (7.99 o; 4.13 d) Really slow start, but it wasn't as bad as it looked. Bobo better get ready. If finishing second in offensive production ain't good enough, doubt this is the last week he hears criticism. Honestly, was more disappointed in the defense than offense considering the opponent.

4.Missouri +3.39 (6.62 o; 3.23 d) I watched the first half of this and felt this D looks very good if not elite. The offense looked better than last year, but the opponent is what it is.

5.Alabama +3.32 (6.78 o; 3.46 d) Watched the first half. Milroe looked good. I mean, I guess some thought he was gonna stink it up against MTSU considering the reaction by the media. We'll know a lot more come Saturday.

6.Kentucky +2.85 (7.00 o; 4.15 d) Didn't watch any of this, but the discrepancy in this stat is far different than the raw totals where the teams were fairly even. I like this stat better though and it's more reflective of the scoreboard in this case.

7.Texas A&M +2.76 (6.52 o; 3.76 d)
I watched the first half here. At least at first, NM's offense moved the ball pretty well. I assume it just continually got worse for them as the game went on into the second half. The offense looked vastly improved over last year, even considering the opponent. I don't know what it is, he looked good in terms of production, gets the job done, but A&M's QB looks like he's putting every ounce of his being into every throw. Just doesn't look fluid, but who cares if you're winning and he's doing what he's doing in the stat book.

8.Tennessee +2.73 (5.87 o; 3.14 d) Watched the first half.
Virginia's OL reminded me of SC's. I think they said they had four first year starters on it and it looked it. From an efficiency standpoint, this would be one of UT's lowest outputs last year. The D looks great vs. the run and they were pretty decent with it last year. It's hard to say about downfield passing as VA's Oline just gave no time for that.

9.Arkansas +2.05 (6.21 o; 4.16 d) I did not watch any of this game. This would be about as low as I'd want to go on this stat if I'm playing a cupcake. Score was not close, so nice win.

10.Auburn +1.23 (7.13 o; 5.90 d) I did not watch this game, but I'd be somewhat concerned giving up nearly 6 YPP to a cupcake. Not surprised by Freeze and his OC's efficiency on offense.

11.Vanderbilt +0.99 (6.26 o; 5.27 d) Have not watched. Probably not good.

12.Florida +0.23 (5.32 o; 5.09 d) Watched all. Played a legit team and were actually more efficient. As bad as UF looked, if their coach had made better sideline decisions, they would've had a lot better chance of getting out of Utah with a victory. He did not give them that chance.

13.LSU -0.29 (7.19 o; 7.48 d) Watched most. LSU quit embarrassingly. But we may be burying them after one week and probably shouldn't. This was pretty even from a LOS production standpoint. Still, really ugly from a defensive standpoint.

14.South Carolina -1.14 (5.01 o; 6.15 d) This was ugly everywhere. I worried about SC because of lack of returning production. They also weren't that great in this stat last year. But the late wins came out of nowhere last year. For whatever reason, Beamer can't seem to take his late season momentum and carry it over to the next season's start. I gained a lot of respect for Rattler in this game. He played tough and took a beating and kept trying to get this offense going. Felt sorry for him and I have often felt he was soft. If there is anything good coming out of this game, to me it's that this kid cares and wants to win.

Most of UMass’s yards came on the opening drive, except for one garbage time long busted play. Ron Roberts adjusted well, but the rush defense is concerning. Otherwise, I’m pleased to see an attacking defense that created multiple turnovers.

I'm of the opposite mind on UGA.

The offense was very meh early, then took off as UTM got tired and continued to do well as backups came in.

The defense was really good until backups came in. The vast majority of UTM's production was against the reserves.

That leaves me more concerned on offense then on defense. Now I think the fact we had a lot of guys dinged up or out can explain some for the offense, but I feel pretty good about the defense overall.

Yea, we gave up 90 yards on the first possession. Auburn still has a ways to go roster wise. We basically self imposed probation with Harsin. Jarqeuz Hunter is the only remaining player from his first full recruiting class.

Edge play was bad. Starks saved us there a few times, but that's got to get better. Lost contain a lot by slipping too far inside.

It's the first week. You talk about it, but there's not a lot to learn from these games. Smart coaches are not approaching it like it's FSU or N. Carolina. They're working on things, as they should. Georgia looked worse vs. Samford and obviously Kent State last year than they did vs. Oregon, SC, Tennessee and TCU.

We've been watching Mond, Calzada, and King...Weigman looks fluid as hell in comparison.

Does he have an injury or something?

Last year, his release looked good but like OP, I noticed he was really having to wind up to throw it deep. Those passes also seemed to hang in the air for awhile with not much zip to them.

Agreed. If the coaches aren't stubborn, and end up moving Perkins back to being a pass rush playmaker, then we will be vastly improved. The secondary will still be very bad. However, movi g Perkins would basically be like adding 2 1st round picks to your defense with him and Maason Smith. Our front would be incredible and unblockable, but when they do get blocked we will have some problems.

Did I read correctly that Tennessee held their opponent to the lowest YPP out of all the SEC last week?

They aren't moving Perkins back.

They may blitz him more but he isn't going back to what he was last year.

He wants to be developed into an NFL linebacker.

Yeah. In the past, we would have given up 21 points just because.

Stopped reading here. That's just completely absurd and retarded. Our defense looked even faster than last season and our offense had no rhythm and looked like pure dog shite.

Offense and defense were fine.

Anyone can cherry pick an issue here and there.

If one person feels that holding the edge against the run/scramble is a bigger deal, we don't need to be idiots and fight one another.
They are just opinions.

We've got no RBs. Our OLine is the worst since 1998. We lost three major players to injuries in our first game ... two of them future draft picks. We have no depth along the DLine therefore they're going to be gassed and frustrated every game.

My concern is the transfer portal. It's killing us and it's only going-to bet worse.

With regard to our OLine we've had an unusual situation there with the OLine coach's health problems ... he's gone now but he left the unit in shambles.

Beamer is going to have to seriously fight his way through this season. We may not win 4 games. We're in a real mess ... even worse than I though in the preseason.

Poor Rattler may not survive.
