Need the Rants help on official rankings

If i started my very own newspaper (sports only) and compiled a weekly and yearly ranking of the big 3 sports of only the D1 universities teams. This is hypothetical of course and had me, my neighbor Bubba and his wife Berths as my sports experts and they named Ole Miss the 1961 NCAA National Champions and SEC Champions for that year. Would the NCAA recognize this as being the official champion or b.s.mput an asterics by the team? Oh wait I just remembered it's not recognized by the NCAA. Ok so would it be recognized by Ole Miss and could they hang a banner for it in their stadium?
