Seems like people are really jumping on the "screw the NCAA" train when there's a clear reason. Marcus Lattimore coaching for USC and hosting camps with recruits NOT as a USC coach is a pretty dicey situation. not only that, but seems like Lattimore could be a coach if he didn't host those camps.

The story is very short on detail, but I think the crux of the issue is that Lattimore doesn't want be a full time coach. He's got a foundation that helps young players through camps and such and doesn't want to give that up.

The NCAA apparently thinks that his status as a former player and being on staff could be used to steer players to USC.

I see their point, but to counter that argument, if he wants to do that then he'll do it whether he's a part time staffer or not.

This is what I took from the story too. I think it has more to do with his foundation than he being a former player. This probably has to do with the remote camps rule that they just passed and Lattimore hosting camps around the south or country or wherever.

the foundation and camps are a conflict of interest if he's a paid member of South Carolina's staff either directly or indirectly.

it's pretty clear imho
