I'm shedding a little tear for all you little ATPBers out there. You'll be ok though. Until someone proves the whereabouts of Cecil and Cam for every second of the last 2 years, and searches every square inch of Earth where Cecil might have hidden the cash, you can still hold your heads high and declare Auburn's guilt. No one can take the following phrases away from you "bought a championship", "head in the sand", "whistling past their graveyard", "scam newton", etc... They are yours to cherish. dumbasses

I agree they're crazy. That being said, they're probably right about the cheating too.

I have heard they were close to a resolution for some time now from friends connected w/UGA, and seeing their compliance guy talking openly about what would be an ongoing investigation makes it pretty clear that it's over, at least as far as Auburn is concerned.

IMO, the Newton investigation with regards to AU is most likely done. I still think MSU will have issues later. The 'AA can't just ignore Rogers/Bond/Bell's involvement with recruiting.

However, since the Newton fiasco last November, looks liek the NCAA has found other issues with AU that they must feel they need to investigate.

Tiger Prowl ~ Big Cat?

Sean Nelson/Louisiana recruting?
Walt Williams/Ark recruiting?
Will Lyles/So Florida recruiting?

Wonder if the NCAA just blew off the HBO4 like the Auburn folk did?

That's an article from a month and a half ago. I'm hearing that it's done, and that the NCAA has told AU that they're in the clear.

They NCAA said that months ago but most of you dumbasses wouldn't accept it.

By the way, Seinfeld sucks.

I'd like to think so! Nah, have no dog in this hunt. Just been interesting to watch. I figured the NCAA would find SOMETHING, but this is a very interesting development.

I don't think any poster here knows any more than the next. We are all just CFB fans and we will probably never know everything that has transpired

Good points, and the article doesn't address any of those other compliance issues, so I'd imagine that those investigations are still ongoing.

No big deal IMO.

A little concerning.

Walt Williams/Ark recruiting?
No real concern on this one.

Not sure if AU has any of his guys or has paid him for services. If so, then I am concerned here. He seems to have a big target on his back and I suspect a few schools might go down with him.

Very little concern at this point on this story. That could change if more details of the allegations emerge.

Even if there was something to it, it is outside the statute of limitations.

Here is the key difference between their breed and the rest of us. They claim to know something that they couldn't possibly know...and while some other form of cheating (payments to Troy Reddick for instance) might have occured, what they have focused on most (Auburn buying Cam for $200K) looks less and less likely. Normal people familiar with the situation only speculate. I personally don't think it happened because of the depth of investigation with zero results..one that the FBI got involved in which no one could have forseen. BUT, if we found out tomorrow that the $ had been found and it came from some rogue booster, McGregor for instance, I would be surprised but not shocked. I think the psychosis breaks down into these simple components. 1. The suggestion of Cecil shopping Cam to MSU but then going to Auburn was so clear, even most of us Auburn fans thought that we were about to get the death penalty. 2. This provided an instant and clear way to discredit Auburn and all of their accomplishments this past year. 3. as time went on and it became less and less likely, the most butt-hurt of rival fans, capable of jedi mind-fricking themselves, could not let go of the original suggestion...and probably never will. I don't have any issue with people suspecting that it might have occured...but KNOWING it occured is delusional and is the product of someone really, really wanting to believe it's true so they can feel better about their team and thus, themselves.

I assume that is a shot at Whitaker. I don't really get it, but just wanted to point out that he has always handled himself with class and usually gives good interviews. He is one of my favorite new players for that reason.

Whitaker is awesome.

If he wants to talk about crack I guess we can start a Jimmy Johns thread.
