NCAA Rankings Suck Here

RANK SCHOOL POINTS RECORD COMMENT
1
Oregon
2,702.2 3-0 QB Marcus Mariota: Easy choice here. He's only averaging 10.8 yards per pass attempt and 17.5 yards per rush. The Ducks will rest this week.
2
Baylor
1,819.5 2-0 RB Lache Seastrunk: While QB Bryce Petty has received most of the love in Waco, Seastrunk has helped the Bears to the No. 8 ground game.
3
Maryland
1,790.9 3-0 QB C.J. Brown: Talk about a team no one is talking about. Behind Brown's 11 total touchdowns, the Terps keep climbing and face WVU next.
4
Louisville
1,701.3 3-0 QB: Teddy Bridgewater: Slow start, no problem for Bridgewater and the Cards last week against Kentucky. He's already tossed 10 touchdowns.
5
Oklahoma
1,574.6 3-0 DB Gabe Lynn: Came into 2013 without an INT, but already has two picks and a recovered fumble to help the Sooners allow just 9.0 ppg.
6
Wisconsin
1,569.8 2-1 RB Melvin Gordon: He's averaging 12.9 yards every time he touches the ball as he's filled the void left by Montee Ball's departure.
7
Michigan St.
1,539.9 3-0 DE Shilique Calhoun: Jeremy Langford finally passed him for the team lead in TDs, but even if he finishes at three it's still impressive.
8
LSU
1,528.1 3-0 QB Zach Mettenberger: Do the Tigers have a potent offensive attack? It sure is looking like it after averaging 46.0 points per game.
9
UCF
1,459.5 3-0 RB Storm Johnson: One way to get on the national map -- win in Happy Valley. The Miami transfer has seven TDs including two at Penn State.
10
Florida St.
1,397.1 2-0 QB Jameis Winston: Nine different players have scored for the Seminoles, but Winston has completed 40 of his 45 pass attempts in 2013.
11
Oklahoma St.
1,344.6 3-0 RB Jeremy Smith: A lot of the talk in Stillwater is about the QBs, but Smith has scored six touchdowns on his 37 carries to lead the 'Boys.
12
Ohio St.
1,281.7 3-0 WR Devin Smith: Score the longest touchdown from scrimmage in OSU history (90 yards) and you get some love. Buckeyes offense is scary.
13
Arkansas
1,281.2 3-0 RB Alex Collins: Bret Bielema's win on Signing Day has already shown why he was so coveted. Leads the team in rushing with 418 yards.
14
Ole Miss
1,264.7 3-0 LB Serderius Bryant: He's only played two games for the Rebels, but he leads the team with 26 tackles -- including 15 at Texas on Saturday.
15
Cincinnati
1,251.4 2-1 QB Brendon Kay: Losing Munchie Legaux was a huge blow for the Bearcats, but Kay stepped in this week and threw for 277 yards and four TDs.

No BAMA or aTm -- WTF? Wisconsin just got beat by ASU. The NCAA is a joke.

I actually only see about 3-4 teams I think the Ags wouldn't just roll over.

No Bama in the pole????

Looks like some East coast or West coast shitbag pole. Can't believe Notre Dame isn't in the top 15.

Joke.

You gave up 42 points to a team not even in the power rankings...

Apparently that defense is incredibly bad and you should feel good about a cotton bowl according to this article.

Sad the best team in the country can "stay under the radar"

the NCAA power rankings have always come across like they are written by somebody who either doesn't watch football or loves trolling people.

Stay under the radar? You were never at any point "under the radar".

as much as I love to see Baylor at #2, this has got to be some sort of mathematical formula that must be ignoring a lot of factors.

Considering Wisconsin is #6 and Cincy is #15, I have to think its probably ignoring losses.

I can't find a formula explanation anywhere though. anyone else have more luck?

I'm not familiar at all with their particular system but early season polls always look goofy. As teams enter their conference runs and we get some coherence related to SOS this poll will very likely produce more sensible results.
