This all started with me saying Auburn fandom severely downplayed with this fan map. Inexplicably I was attacked for this assertion, even by Auburn fans. I lived in Huntsville for awhile and I know what I saw.

Then pointing out that Clemson fans in SC similar to number of SC fans, and probably even more than SC fans because Clemson has had a lot more success in football over the years. SC probably picked up some bandwagon non-alumni fans over the past few years but they will be fleeing the wagon soon. Their last season seemed to take all the wind out of their sails and losing numerous recruits and a lot of transfers.

Asserting SC has more fans than Clemson is like asserting G Tech has more fans than UGA in GA.

In my limited experience with SC (mainly Greenville, Spartanburg, and Myrtle Beach), I've seen more orange than garnet. It's not a huge difference though.
