It's pretty obvious that these kids are picking Alabama because they want to be champions.
Kids don't just get in line behind 5 5* and ride the bench to say they were on a NC team even though they didn't contribute. They know they will get to the NFL where ever they go. They come for what they are gave to sign and then transfer and play football for another team.

He could be good, but he wasn't impressive Saturday in the Army game.

Well he was trying to run against future Sooners all day. Cut the kid some slack.

Rivals Daily Dozen: Top performers from Army week

Najee Harris

The nation’s No. 1 ranked prospect did not have quite the impact in the game as was expected, carrying eight times for just 22 yards, but as noted that can happen due to the nature of these all-star games. This is a look at the entire week, though, and Harris was certainly among the 12 most impressive players during the week in San Antonio. His footwork for a player that size is so impressive, and then he certainly has the ability to lower a shoulder and pick up the tough yards.

They know they will get to the NFL where ever they go? You obviously don't know college football

I'm sure if you compare the ratio of 5*s that make it to the NFL are as high or higher at alot of other schools as Bama. The ratio that go bust at Bama is probably alot higher than other schools.

Him and Bo should be front runners in 2017 Heisman.

That's kinda ridiculous

Bo might be in the conversation and Najee has a very slim chance. Guice is the number 1 back in the SEC.

Not that I care what any of you guys think about the kid but he was banged up. Has to have a procedure done on his knee this off-season. Anyone that paid attention to recruiting this year knows that Najee Harris was easily one of the top 2 backs in the country. Lots of folks thought he was the overall #1 player as well.

LSUs backup has 2x as many yards as Bo

Bo has more in one carry vs. UW than your starter had in 3 years against Bama.

Let's look at this (just out of curiosity). I am using the 247 rating system.

2008:
Julio Jones (drafted #6 overall)
Tyler Love (never really played)
BJ Scott (transferred)

2009:
Trent Richardson (drafted #3 overall)
Dre Kirkpatrick (drafted #17 overall)
Nico Johnson (drafted #99 overall)
DJ Fluker (drafted #11 overall)

2010:
Dee Milliner (drafted #9 overall)
Phillip Sims (transferred after getting beat out by AJ)

2011:
Cyrus Kouandjio (drafted #44 overall)
HaHa Clinton-Dix (drafted #21 overall)
Trey Depriest (not drafted)

2012:
Landon Collins (drafted #33 overall)
TJ Yeldon (drafted #36 overall)
Eddie Williams (kicked off the team after getting arrested)

2013:
Reuben Foster (will be drafted this year)
Derrick Henry (drafted #45 overall)
Jonathan Allen (will be drafted this year)
OJ Howard (will be drafted this year)
Robert Foster (has had some injuries. I think he can return next year)
A'shawn Robinson (drafted #46 overall)

2014:
Cam Robinson (will be drafted this year)
Da'shawn Hand (good chance of getting drafted next year)
Tony Brown (has potential if he can stay out of trouble)
Marlon Humphrey (will be drafted whenever he decides to go)
Rashaan Evans (could be drafted when he goes)

2015:
Calvin Ridley (will be drafted)
Kendall Sheffield (transferred)
Blake Barnett (transferred)
Da'Ron Payne (will be drafted)
Minkah Fitzpatrick (will be drafted)
Damien Harris (will be drafted)

Just using 2008-2013, that's 21 5* recruits. At least 15 of those 21 will have been drafted. That's an average of at least 71%. Between 2002 and 2010 using Rivals ratings, 44.3% of all 5*s were drafted. If we assume that average continued on through the 2013 class, Alabama under Saban is doing well over the average. Also the percentage to go first round is also higher at Alabama than the national average.

LINK

quote:

» Of those 262, 116 were drafted (44.3 percent) and 42 went in the first round (16 percent); 38 percent of the five stars who were drafted were first-rounders.

ETA: Someone save this post, because I'm not going to do the research again.

I hope Najee is good for Bama, but not too good that he decides to skip bowl games.
