Pretty fair. I think LSU fans could make a case for themselves over us but personally, I think we're a bit more polished than they are but only very, very slightly. Really, I'd be cool either way.

Sadly I think you got us in about the right spot by the end of the season.

Now... GFY.

I seriously cannot wait for the Vols to be at the top again. I hate Butch, but TSIO has sucked arse since 2009. CFB is better when Tenner is good.

Mizzou is way too high. Our offense was beyond dreadful.

In fairness, TSIO was pretty good this year. But yeah, it needs to get better and I think it will although Bama will always have an advantage with Saban there unless he suddenly falls apart in recruiting. That said, I've noticed that Jones and Saban actually have something pretty important in common as both of them are excellent at preparing for a team, especially when given extra time.

They also share a similar flaw in that both can struggle when things go off script. Saban though has been able to make up for that with superior Jimmy and Joes. CBJ's biggest coaching flaw this season was getting too conservative with a lead BUT over the later season games and in the bowl he's shown that he's learned from that and I don't think he'll take the foot off the gas again.

BTW, why do you hate Butch? There's only two coaches I can say that I hate and that's James Franklin and Urban Meyer and based on the fact that both are total sleazebags.

Well, we had the 3rd best margin against Alabama and beat 3 of the 5 teams ahead of us. And every single one of those games was played on the road.

But then we lost to 2 teams behind us in A&M and MSU, so I guess it's a wash.

This years TSIO was awesome!

I agree with a lot of what you said. I'm not exactly sure why I dislike Butch so much. I live in middle tenn and I hear quite a bit from him on the radio. It seems like before (and after) every game we have to hear about how Tn is so young and inexperienced. It drives me crazy. Then he flubbed several games this year and yet again we heard how his team isn't ready yet. I understand managing expectations and coach speak, but Butch just goes over the top with it. His haircut...also makes me angry haha.

He does seem like a hard working dude and he probably is very nice. That doesn't stop my irrational hatred for the man. I always felt like the Vols were Bama's best rival and I like most all the Vol coaches. Butch just seems like maximum over Yankee to me. I dunno. I'll get over it if he can deliver like he did this year.

I dislike Sumlin, Franklin, Meyer, and Chip Kelley as well.

Florida to high. Arkansas has a much better offense.

Coach Mac didn't need to win his bowl game. He almost won too many games this year as it is.

He better recruit like his hairs on fire or ask Saban who the bag man for Ole miss is.

more like this guy said....

Damn that's a major oversight on my part (I guess I was thinking of current HCs). I'd add him to that list too and for the same reasons.

Oh man, Butch's coachspeak drives everyone nuts so I can understand that - I just ignore it and make fun of the phrases he repeats over and over (one dude nicknamed presser Butch: Butchbot 5000 or something like that). Seriously, take a shot every time Butch uses the word "individuals" and when he uses "these individuals" make it a double.

It was interesting that in his presser after the bowl game he was actually relaxed for maybe the first time ever. A lot of UT fans remarked on that so maybe he's coming around.

Although CBJ had coaching experience, I think one thing he was totally unprepared for when hired was how every single thing about the program and team, even the smallest thing, is followed in this conference and especially at UT to an insane degree. And I think his response to that was to go full coachspeak when dealing with the media.

Hopefully, Relaxed Jones stays around because Presser Jones is uninteresting and someone I completely ignore.

This makes a lot of sense.
