but we have 8 legit, indisputable NC's

Actually Mich. State would dispute 1965, N.D. would dispute 1973, and USC would dispute 1978.

Ohio State would dispute Auburn's 1957 championship.

It's a slippery slope you are going down.

Notre Dame claims 11, 3 by Knute Rockne that was before the AP, UPI, BCS, etc. polls. Will they quit claiming these 3 and take away Knute Rockne's NC's because their rivals doesn't like it. Should Michigan take away 9 of the 11 they claim. Only 2 was AP, the first 8 NC's were before the polls. USC claims 11, 4 before the poll era, only 7 AP and UPI.

Bama was also Rose Bowl Champs in 1925, 26, 30, and 34. The Rose Bowl champs were usually crowned national champions in those days. We also won the Rose Bowl in 1945 and was undefeated (10-0), but the National Championship was given to Army (9-0) and Navy was second (7-1-1) - World War 11 was happening at this time, of course the military was favored. Bama does not claim 1945 for this reason. 1941 I'm just not sure why that one was claimed.

And all of Coach Bryant's national championships are legitimate. 61, 64, 79 are AP and UPI champions; 65 and 78 are AP champions; and 73 are UPI champions.

I will be happy claiming 12 (includes 2009 but not 1941).

Of course it counts, but according to the rules of that time and later times, those were not legitamate NC. You may have had the best team in some years, but they were NOT NC. that can be sai of many great programs.

So our football history from 1892-1935 doesn't count?

Of course it does. There just wasn't a thing called a National Title that existed in the sport at that time.

Yes that 1941 title should belong to us.

Fine with me bro. I never got excited over the 12 count anyway. I do wish they would give us the '66 NC though. We were Undefeated and got robbed by a 10-0-1 Notre Dame team because of extreme homerism in the press for ND.
