Also led the conference in TFL, I'd like to think you're better than this.

This point came up in our protest thread re your exile.

Shane Ray had 22 TFL. How many did Barnett have?

He beat him the whole game. Like a drum. The big boy was having to hold him on every play.

My mistake, forgot about Ray. Barnett only had 21, as a true freshman.

I have to admit that I remained seated...but then again, I'm old and decrepit.

Here are all of Dobbs' plays against Bama

in 1 half:

19/32 192 yards 2 TD 1 INT
19 rushes for 75 yards

Not great, but nowhere near laughable like you're suggesting, especially considering this was Bama and he got thrown in at the 2nd half.

He improved our ground attack by over 100 yards per game, that's pretty significant imo.

Oh, I thought that was because your schedule ended with Kentucky, Vanderbilt, South Carolina and getting beat by Mizzou. My bad.

Dobbs started the final four games of the regular season and looked pretty good.

Kentucky - Playing its 8th straight game without a bye; Tennessee coming off a bye.

South Carolina - A team that couldn't stop Jojo Kemp in the Wildcat? Struggling with a mobile QB? You don't say.

Missouri - An offensively challenged squad; held him to 5.3 YPA (!) and forced an interception. 17 rushes trying to make something happen for 0.76 YPC.

Vanderbilt - A really bad football team; held him to 4.6 YPA (!) and forced 2 interceptions with no TDs. He had to rush 22 times to win the game by a TD.

So, while Dobbs looked great against Kentucky through the air and against SCAR everywhere, he was pretty pedestrian against Missouri and Vanderbilt.

He found some success on the ground against Iowa in the bowl game (5.3 YPA, 2 TDs) but was again pedestrian throwing the ball (6.1 YPA, 1 TD 1 INT).

I'm convinced that this guy, by virtue of looking very good against notable defensive juggernauts Kentucky and South Carolina, is probably the prohibitive favorite for the Heisman.

I know, we should have made rings for that accomplishment.

I can't remember a more over-hyped mediocre QB.

He's a poor alien's version of Dak Prescott. He'll disappear into obscurity like all the duck throwing high schools QBs that have their 5 minutes in college ball.

Some people parobably don't take to kindly to facts around here.

We lost our starting center in the UK game. The Mizzou and Vandy games were played with an even worse OL due to the center being turrible and no healthy WRs. We also had the distraction of losing AJ all week prior to the Mizzou - losing him hurt a great deal. By the Vandy game we had a skeleton crew on the field that was made worse by Hurd getting a concussion in the first few minutes.

He has tons of talent and potential. Hopefully he puts it all together behind an improved Oline this year.
