He's gonna regret having to deal with the traffic on that side of the lake and getting to downtown every day at rush hour ... although he'll probably leave early and get home late from what I hear. The guy is a workaholic.
If you leave early enough (by 7AM), traffic isn't really an issue.
Looking at the property from a map, I don't like the lack of trees around the main house. However, the guest house looks appealing.

South Carolina fans aren't really creepy like other SEC schools' fans. This story will pass in a day and nobody will give a shite where Muschamp lives.
It's not USC fans I'd be worried with, I'd concern myself more with say Clemson fans, where one of these might be lurking on the shoreline:

Doesn't $1.85mm seem really low for that place? Lake front, > 9k square ft, pool, dock, etc.
Maybe we should all move to SC.

You can live really well in our poor states for relatively little money.

sumlin's pool boy tweeting that he overheard DC negotiations with Chavis always made me laugh.
I have not heard of another instance where that has happened.

Originally listed at around 2.2 million, but nobody would buy it.
The cost of living here is incredibly low. That is probably why bunches of retirees end up settling in this state.

i dont like the staircases. why have two right next to each other???? Dont get it.
it needs $100k in landscaping. plant some mature trees in the front yard.
but otherwise a great looking property.

While that may be true, I wouldn't make it painfully easy for them.
That spot is one of the most heavily trafficked spots on the lake, by water. That house has been sitting there for sale for a couple of years now ... it's a fairly new home, the people that built it lived in it for only a very short time.
And the house is not something that you can get to easily by land. It's not a place where people can drive by, on the road and gawk.
He'll have plenty of people going by in a boat during the summer ... but that's okay, there is always a lot of boat traffic along that side of the lake. He'll just need to hang some good blinds and curtains or maybe put some reflective window film on those windows.

Clemson fans are definitely the problem. I'm sure he'll have video cameras installed everywhere to try to thwart some of their bullshite. And he'll have some No Trespassing signs hung so that if he has to plug a taterhead he's covered legally. We have a Castle Doctrine in SC and it especially applies to trespassing sheep humpers.

Nice house, but kind of an ugly piece of property. Just sitting there with no trees around, and the ugly rock wall retainer on the lake sucks.
I'm sure Boom can afford a little landscaping. He is still living on Florida's dime. Hasn't even tapped into his AU and SC money.

I know that house/neighborhood. It's not new construction, but it was recently remodeled. It's zoned for Irmo schools, which are now not as good as Chapin's. However, District5 has a policy that you can send your kids to any school in the district as long as you provide transportation. If you want your kids to go to Private school, it's a trek to Hammond or Heathwood Hall. It's a great house for entertaining though and it faces west in the summer for sunsets over the lake.
It's also a good drive to the Stadium, but they've expanded Lake Murray Rd to help with the traffic.

People forget how much money he made as an assistant from 2001-2010 and especially while at Texas.
He made over $5.5 million from '01-'10 ... that was before he ever signed the Florida deal which banked him another $40 million en toto (including his buyout) and now he's making over $3 mil a year, guaranteed $18 million. Not to mention the $1.6 million he made his one year at Auburn. After taxes you can bet he's got at least $25-$30 million in the bank or invested, probably more considering the market during the last eight years.
He done very well financially, the guy is successful. He can afford that house without much difficulty and he actually made a good deal on that place. He paid $500k less than they were asking.

Plus, I'm sure they have one of the condos right by the stadium.

You're right ... I was wrong. I just found an updated piece that says he waived his $2 million a year buyout and it was reduced to a simple $500,000 before the beginning of his fourth year when they gave him a new five year deal at the end of three years for recruiting purposes.
So he did not receive a $10 million buyout and he only made $28 million, total including his side contract deals, shoe deals, TV deals, etc., while at Florida.
My original contention above was based on his first contract.
He probably made a tactical error allowing them to cut his buyout, but I'm sure he thought he was going to be successful and turn it around that fourth year.

No one know for sure, but this has the chance to go down as the worst anticipated disastrous hire in the SEC.
