Already the strange home of the Grant Presidential library, Mississippi State received the donation today that will establish the Lincoln Presidential library, making Starkville the premier location to research The presidency during and after the Civil War.

This is a huge deal. Collection valued at 3 million...

This now makes MSU the largest collection of Lincoln and Grant Civil War artifacts and memorabelia in the world.

This x1000

State gets an incredible donation giving them an amazing research facility and his first response is to make fun of Ole Miss.

Agreed. This has nothing to do with Ole Miss. This is a really cool thing for MSU and the state.

Right history professor at the right time got the Grant Library. The addition of the Lincoln artifacts makes it the coolest thing to do on a road trip to Starkville for visiting fans - a bar that admittedly isn't high, but still.

I can't wait to see what they are going to do with it.

OMG Nancy. That's a joke that cannot go untold

It's right up there with the anthropologist from Mississippi State knowing where all the bodies are buried at UMMC. Sometimes reality is just ironic

And funny

And SA#39 is from Lincoln County.....

Lincoln's legislation established land grant colleges, including Mississippi state. Not that strange. Lots of sec schools should thank Lincoln. Not us though.

Would be nice if we could get the statues out of New Orleans and put them in some sort of display. Not sure those will ever make it out of NO in one piece though.

That great state university in Knoxville claims to be the first land grant university going back to 1794.

Bigger arse kicking in the state of Mississippi? Grant vs the Confederacy in 1863 or the NCAA vs Ole Miss in 2017?

The Morrill Land Grant Act was passed in 1862. Land grant colleges were founded/designated after that time.
