MSU signed 4-DL, 2-OL, 3-S from JC. At least two were originally at Georgia and others at P-5 teams. Plus they got that prospect QB from Landry-Walker in N.O.
MSU pursues JC players but this is a LOT. It would seem to give them age/maturity especially along OL and DL where they lost a lot. It remains to be seen if Mullen can jell it all into a team.
MSU is my dark horse pick along with Kentucky in the East... I wouldn't be surprised if Kentucky won the east this year.

What's a prospect QB? Aren't they all prospects out of HS?

I remember when Brad Scott and Lou Holtz used to do that ... it rarely worked out.
JuCos are a little different these days ... but still, three to play three is cool, three to play two is okay, two to play two is a crap shoot.

Well, no. Some HS QBs are just "recruits," others are "prospects," but I've noticed that some teams have consistently been unable to tell the difference. No sense in identifying those teams, it wouldn't serve any purpose except mean spirited trolling.
Keytaon Thompson Landry-Walker (New Orleans, LA)

We signed them like 4 months ago. Are you just realizing this? Almost all of our JUCO guys are on defense. And in case you didn't notice, our defense sucked last year. I'll be more worried if this becomes a trend but for the time being, we needed a bandaid and it couldn't really get worse.

Montez Sweat (Mich St), Chauncey Rivers (UGA) Jonathan Abram (UGA), Deion Pope, Lee Autry, Tommy Champion, and Brian Cole (Mich) is one hell of a haul.

Wasn't Champion, Cole and Autry at State but didn't qualify or something and went juco.

yes that is true on the last 3. There is talk of one or 2 possibly red shirting. A couple are supposed to be talented enough to start on any SEC team or a backup at bama. It will just depend on the numbers. Keytaon Thompson was the number 1 rated QB in Louisiana. He is legit.

Champion, Pope and Autry. I'm fairly certain Lee Autry is related to form bulldog Denico Autry if not brothers

Pretty sure all but a couple were there for spring training including Keyton.

Are Lee and Denico related?

I knew this in theory but hadn't put it all into the complete picture, nor had any "Staaaate" fans filled us in. I was organizing my match-up sheets and that is when the numbers of Juco's stood out. Will be interesting to see how it works....More P-5 teams seem to be looking at Jucos now, and Alabama has been doing it selectively for a number of years.

Brothers.

i've been trying to tell everyone we are going to be significantly better than last year due to Juco's and pretty good defensive coordinator. We will sneak up on someone like an Auburn or an LSU if they come out flat. I expect
9-3 season at best 7-5 most likely

I think the need to win now is in full effect. These juco players are expected to play and contribute as soon as they touch campus. If a coach can't win within 3 or 4 years, he is out the door and the coaches are trying to keep their jobs by getting juco players. I think LSU does some stupid shite but when they hired their basketball coach they gave him 6 years. I applaud them for that. That's unheard of.

Defense is the key. State doesn't have to be a top 5 Defense. State just have be in the middle of the pack. If State would have had a middle of the pack defense, how many of those would have been wins? Kentucky, BYU, Arkansas, South Alabama. You are looking at 9 wins right there.

Same could be said for Ole Miss last year
