They may not be Bama of 2011 or 2012, but they'll still kick the shite out of the volunteers

LSU finished #2 in 2011 instead of Oklahoma State.

Close your eyes and just imagine...someone puts a gun to your head and says, "Pick this year's national champ correctly or die."

Now, I'm not saying you'd pick Alabama, but you're a liar if they are not one of your last three or four choices.

2006 Notre Dame, worst #2 ranking in history. I guarantee you Alabama will not finish with three blowout losses.

The most undeserving #3 ranking, however, does go to Alabama - the 2000 Dubose fiasco.

Uh, wasn't USC preseason #1 a few years ago and finished completely unranked?

If you let preseason and early season rankings get you rustled, you're either 13 or a moron.

You are correct. Alabama peaked at #3 and thank goodness. Texas or USC would have skull drug that Alabama team around the Rose Bowl a couple dozen times at least.

Dye only had 1 team preseason #1.

And apparently that was one too many.

no the worst #2 was south florida in 2007. Any of the top 10 can beat any other team in the top 10 this year. I wouldn't complain about any of the teams in the top being number 2.
