#1 Southern Cal - playing in a 1 team conference is no big deal
#2 Texas - Oklahoma and Nebraska were better but not according to the talking heads
#3 Michigan - modern MNC's < hype received
#4 Florida State / Miami - since the ACC went to 12 they have been over hyped
#5 The lesser child - TCU / Boise State / ??? who could go undefeated with the schedule they played
I would only give Notre Dame an honorable mention because for the years they were really bad they were not in the ratings.
