I'll go with A&M #1 with Ga. #2 and Auburn #3.

Agree with this. A&M just dominating a SC defense that has been historically sound in Columbia was the most impressive win by any team period in the first week of play.

TAMU was very impressive, but its a long season. Let's wait and see waht happens when they face a little better defense.

Our win wasn't impressive because SC sucks? Nobody can know this right now, after 1 game.

So our complete dominance on offensive side of he ball, not struggling the entire game, giving up 28 points on the road, and pulling away in convincing fashion, well before halftime, gives A&M the nod.

Then UGA for finally separating from Clemson and stopping them, then Aubie I guess.

by that logic, you can't know that they didn't suck either, right?

either way you beat them like ginger-adoptees and I liked it!!!!

You played well, they didn't and you spanked the snot outa em in their house, where they thought they were so cool.

after week 1, the SEC

in this order:

A&M
UGA
Auburn

Upper middle of the pack

Lower middle of the pack

I would agree with this, but A&M and UGA substantially ahead of Auburn.

I go with the jizz jars mainly because they played on the road in front of a hostile crowd against what was the 9th ranked team. That was impressive.

Very good points. A&M was very impressive and their defense looked better. I think in the long haul we will see South Carolina is a good team. TAMU looked good and looks like they have not missed a beat. It's a long season, though, and I think you will see Bama shore up their defense and LSU will make big strides. The West looks very, very good with TAMU, Auburn, Bama, LSU and Ole Miss and MAYBR Miss. St.

Still think you will see MUCH improved South Carolina and Florida teams and georgia, I HOPE, is for real. Mizzou gets the dark horse nod in the East. It will be one of the most exciting years for the SEC in a long, long time.

1. A&M
2. UGA
3. Who knows. I didn't get to see Auburn, but I suspect them. Arkansas will be better than many think.

I'll agree Bogie, after one game...just a glimpse though, the pecking order will probably change as we go move forward.

ATM, Auburn then UGA.

aTm's offense looked really good. If Thompson wasn't so awful, their defense would have given up a lot of points though.

Auburn ahead of UGA because we have elite WR talent, two QBs better than their starter, and a better Online. Gurley makes it close though.

I think our defensive improvement would have been much more apparent if we hadn't blown two coverages that immediately turned into 14 points.

I don't think you can go wrong giving the "most impressive" label to either A&M or Georgia after week one. Both squads looked great.

What Georgia did defensively in the 2nd half was pretty astounding.

Auburn, Georgia, aTm That's not a slight on aTm, but I thought SCar looked god awful. I think in that game, I was more disappointed in SCar than impressed my aTm.

So you saying SCar looked bad but Clemson and Arky looked good. Haters gonna hate

Georgia and A&M both performed well. I'd have to give Georgia the edge right now, based on defense. I say this because based on performance, I'd say Clemson would have beat South Carolina this past weekend.

Bama looks like it might be in transition; still curious about the Saban/Kiffin dynamics. What looks potentially scary for them is, in all honesty, Kiffin's offense contributed more to the win than the defense did. If that keeps up, there might be some bizarre moments in T-Town.

LSU is interesting. Most of the game was rough, but it was almost like an audition. We seemed to have come out of it with a QB, 2 good WRs, and a defense that can hold when the chips are down. By the time we play another game we can lose, I think things will be a lot more polished up.

I'm going with A&M and then Georgia and then Auburn. Each won in impressive fashion, but A&M played the #9 team on the road and kicked their arse. We don't know how good any of these teams that lost are so until the season plays out a little A&M was more impressive.
