The most exciting and fun to watch player...at least since 1962 would be Wes Chandler from UF 1974-1977. He played on wishbone teams and didn't get ball thrown to him much and honestly we didn't anyone who could throw to him that well.

Wes also played QB & RB because of need at times. He would glide through the field and no DB could cover him...he made leaping slow motion catches and seem to be suspended in the air.

He is also the highest ranked WR taken in the draft from the SEC, a third overall pick that unfortunately went to hapless Saints. He finally was traded to the San Diego Chargers.

The most impressive defensive player? Has to be Wilbur Marshall LB/DE at UF from mid 1980s. Bill Stanfill from UGA would be right there also with Ted Hendricks from Univ of NJ @ Coral Gables.

Atwater was one of my favorite pros. But I'm not old enough to remember him in college. That's why I went with Kearse. Kevin Faulk was fun to watch too.

If you want a refresher on Darren McFadden's greatness then put it on the SEC Network now to watch him help knock off #1 LSU in 2OT.

My favorites were:

Archie and Jevon Kearse. Clowney was incredible when he wasn't taking the play, or the day, off.

Leaning on the "fun to watch" rather than impressive:

Jared Lorenzen - Favorite play...when the Hefty Lefty completed a pass behind his back. He also moved so freakin well for somebody his size. My favorite memory was when Kentucky fans started filing out of Commonwealth in the 4th quarter with UK down 24-10. He stands up on the bench, looks at them and yells "Y'all are getting ready to miss one hell of a comeback". UK winds up losing to Arkansas in the 7th overtime.

Eric Berry - Just because he was going to knock the snot over anyone he could.

If Lorenzen could have overcome his eating problems, he could have been a truly great QB. This ESPN article lays it out pretty clearly:

That was a good read. Just like Mel Turpin...Lorenzen is another UK star eating himself to death. Very sad.
