This isn’t hard to understand.

In a typical season, both Bama and UGA schedule a top tier OOC opponent early.

Bama plays 3 rent-a-wins for their other 3 games. Georgia plays Tech instead of a rent-a-win

2024 OOC schedule:

Georgia
Clemson
Tennessee Tech
UMass
Georgia Tech

Bama
Wisconsin
USF
Western Kentucky
Mercer

Yeah GT isn’t very good, but it’s hilarious you try to bash UGA for playing them when you are literally playing Mercer instead

You comparing UGA's in conference or out of conference schedule to Alabama in most seasons is hysterical. You want to point out GT like it matters and it doesn't. The game is nearly unwinnable for GT. It's a joke. Stop pretending it's anything other than joke. Since you want to compare OOC games, here's a list of Alabama's since 2007 (Saban's first season):

FSU ×2
Duke ×2
Clemson
Virginia Tech ×2
Penn State ×2
Michigan
West Virginia
Wisconsin
USC
Louisville
Miami
Texas ×2

Now do UGA.

Do what?

The only "danger" regarding this game is the possibility of injuries/suspensions going in to the SECCG.

UGA —
Clemson x 3
ND x2
Arizona State x 2
North Carolina
Oregon
Colorado
Oklahoma State x 2
GT x 17

29 games vs p5 for UGA
17 games vs p5 for Bama

And GT wasn’t an auto win between 2007 and 2016.

List is shite. You keep throwing GT in there like that game matters. P5 opponents don't matter when the games aren't legitimately contestable.

Don't forget we scheduled Ohio State (home and home) and Oklahoma (home and home)

The first was cancelled by OSU and OU was cancelled by the conference.

Virginia tech was a top 10 program at the time numbnuts, and West Virginia was a very good program at the time that we scheduled them. I listed Duke because they were on the schedule.

Yeah the biggest drawback to the night game is losing the time to prepare for the SEC Championship game.

Analysts for both Bama and UGA have been working on the game for weeks. A 7:30 kickoff isn't going to impact preparedness.

They weren’t. The best VT you played was 2009. A decent team, but they lost that year to GT..who made the BCS and played in the Orange Bowl that year.

You want to count them as quality but not a superior team.

I am of the opinion that at some point the Dawgs will simply overpower GT by attrition like they did last season.

While this may be a little bit of a letdown week on paper, it will be no less of a challenge to Kirby and the staff.

However, I do feel like they will rest as many of the walking wounded as possible. McConkey, Ratledge and a few others may not see very much action.

Going into the SECCG undefeated is exactly where Kirby wants to be.

There will be more Georgia alumni in the stands than GT fans.
