was in Memphis on business last year went to Graceland while on the Graceland property it was safe with guards but the area around looked terribly dangerous.

Yeah, Graceland is in the hood. When it was built, it was a nice suburb

Sun Studio is hood also but might be the most memorable tour you’ll ever take.

Asked to help out a buddy, who's daughter has a softball tourney down there, or near there. All i know, is that it's in/around hoover, supposed to be some kind of huge soccer/softball??? park. I figured it was decent, when the mall-ish area had a Bentley dealership

I would feel uneasy at night around Graceland in an Abrams tank.

yeah, a cab driver tried to drop off my mother, aunt, and sister at Sun, at 7pm, instead of autozone park, where we were. they pulled up, there was shenanigans near there and they demanded to be taken to autozone or they would call the cops. He took them to the park, and said he could take them to tunica for a good deal, LOLOLOL

The daytime isn’t much better. I worked in a warehouse near Graceland in high school. Lot of hookers and gabgbangers, and that was over 20 years ago. It’s worse now

My dad actually grew up in Whitehaven in the 60s/70s (where Graceland is). Crazy how much that area has changed. But that’s Memphis for you. They’ll never do what’s necessary to address the problems the city has created. I left after high school and won’t ever move back despite both mine and my wife’s family living there

I have been to the SEC tournament before. Never had an issue. I know they have dozens of fields and an place that can play 10 basketball games at 1 time. Hoover used to have a top 10 national football team with Rush Propst as coach.

It happens faster now days than it used to. Twenty years ago most government policy was aimed at slowing down the decay. Now days most government policy is aimed at speeding up the decay. I mean increasing diversity. Diversity is our strength.

That woman paralyzed in Montgomery should be grateful she caught a little stray diversity in her spine. She now will get to experience the rest of her life as a paraplegic. Now THAT is different. Diversity is awesome.

NOLA is not bad

I love Nola as much as the next guy, but there’s no denying currently that it’s an absolute third world war zone. Memphis is basically New Orleans without all of the cool redeeming elements. Atlanta is basically Memphis, but bigger.

Not even the most dangerous place in Alabama.

Maybe not. When I lived in Bham 30-something years ago Walker County had a bad reputation. I was advised to never pull into a stranger's driveway for fear of being shot at. Maybe thats everywhere now?

I would say the closest city to Charlotte NC...but it probably is pretty nice getting the flight out of Charlotte.

I was going to say Greenville just because...but it's nothing like some of the shite holes being mentioned. Kudos SC.

I had my mail delivered to the Hilton on E. County Line Rd. for most of 2014-2015. No way I would stay there past 2015.
